Chelsea target Koulibaly's future depends on Champions League, says agent

The agent of Kalidou Koulibaly is tight-lipped on reports linking the Napoli defender to Chelsea, while suggesting that qualification for the Champions League could be crucial in his decision.

Koulibaly has been the rock in the Napoli backline as the southern Italians continue to push Juventus for the Serie A title.

But the Senegal international has long been linked to Chelsea, who saw a bid for the defender rejected in 2017

Not only Koulibaly, but Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri are now said to be considering a switch to Stamford Bridge, the latter in line to replace Antonio Conte in the hot-seat.

"I don’t know anything, neither do I know if Chelsea will qualify for the Champions League or not," agent Bruno Satin told  Radio CRC   when asked whether the Napoli pair were Chelsea-bound.

“It’s important to understand how the season will end because important players want to play the Champions League."

Koulibaly could move for up to €100 million, almost double the bid filed last year, but Satin underlined there are still no guarantees a deal will be struck.

“Is Koulibaly worth €100m? The market and president Aurelio De Laurentiis will decide because Kalidou has no release clause," he added.

“The president may also decide to keep him because he considers him important for the team.

“I don’t know if these three games will be his last for Napoli because there have been offers every year, but Koulibaly has always ended up staying, so he won’t necessarily leave.

“It’s difficult to make predictions now, plus there’s also a need to understand what Sarri will do.”

Napoli currently trail Juve by four points at the Serie A summit, with three games left in the Italian season.
