The 2017 DStv Super Cup match pitting Tusker against Gor Mahia has been postponed until league fixtures are released

The DStv Super Cup match between Kenyan Premier League champions Tusker FC and Gor Mahia has been postponed.

The Cup which serves as the league's curtain raiser, was to be played on Sunday at Kasarani Stadium but will now have to wait until a later date.

This information has been exclusively confirmed to Goal by Gor Mahia Deputy Secretary General Ronald Ngala, who says that broadcasters SuperSport have requested to hold on the match until league fixtures are released.

“Yes, the Dstv Super Cup match will not be played on Sunday because SuperSport wants to make it closer to league kick-off. They will now set a date after seeing the league fixtures so as to play the match a week earlier.”

Gor Mahia cheque rejected by NSL club

Gor Mahia played their first friendly match against Sudani Premier League giants Al Hilal and will travel to play Ugandan Premier League side Oduparaka on February 4. Tusker, on the other hand, have scheduled a friendly match against National Super League side Palos FC on Wednesday.
