Bidvest Wits and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Darren Keet has potentially warded off interest from some of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) big guns.

The keeper has been linked with moves to Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs among others with his contract set to expire at the end of the current campaign.

However, Keet is adamant that he will not be joining another PSL team.

The 29-year-old, who is fresh from an inspired performance for the national team that saw Bafana book their place in Egypt for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals, suggests that he wants to stay at Wits despite reported interest in his services.

“Obviously there are talks, and there is always going to be interest around players in South Africa, it is no different for me and with my contract is coming to an end and if a player is free it makes it easier for clubs because they don’t have to pay transfer fees and things like that,” Keet told the media on Wednesday.

“But no, I am not looking to go to any club in South Africa,” he expressed.

“I will stay at Wits. Like I said, there is no better place for me to be than right here. My family is happy. The club likes me, and I like the club. Any money any club can offer, Wits can pay me also. We have more chance of winning the league than a lot of other teams,” Keet expressed.

Following the international break, Wits are expected to return to action with a shot at the Nedbank Cup semi-final at stake.
