Napoli v Real Madrid Betting: Both teams to waste little time in finding the net

After a high-scoring first leg, our tipster is backing the defending champions to be involved in another goal-filled game when they travel to Naples

While this tie is tipped in the favour of Real Madrid following their 3-1 first leg win, there are few people suggesting their qualification it is a forgone conclusion and both sides warmed up for this European showdown with impressive domestic victories at the weekend.

While Real Madrid made eight changes to their starting line-up and still managed to win 4-1 at an in-form Eibar side, Napoli went to the Stadio Olimpico and beat second placed Roma 2-1. That result ended Roma's run of 15 successive home league wins, with Napoli becoming the first side in Serie A to beat the Giallorossi in the Olimpico since November 2015.

Paddy Power offer the hosts as outsiders for the win on Tuesday night, with Napoli priced at 15/8 (2.88) to win in 90 minutes and at 11/2 (6.50) to qualify for the next round. Madrid meanwhile can be backed at 5/4 (2.25) to win with the draw offered at 27/10 (3.70).

The last time Real Madrid lost a match by a scoreline which would see them eliminated on Tuesday, was April 2016 when they were defeated 2-0 in Wolfsburg. Zinedine Zidane's men are on a record breaking run of 46 consecutive matches scoring in all competitions and it is hard to see them failing to find the back of the net at the Stadio San Paolo.

With Napoli the top scorers in Serie A and having netted in 26 of their last 28 home matches it is hardly surprising to find the price of 2/5 (1.40) for both teams to score. Fractionally more enticing is the price of 4/9 (1.44) for a goal to be scored in both halves, while over 2.5 goals in the match can be backed at the same price.

If we think that goals look likely then perhaps the price of 11/5 (3.20) for both teams to score in the first half should be of interest, with this bet comfortably paying out in the first leg. Meanwhile the price of 8/11 (1.73) for Madrid to net a first half goal could appeal, given that Los Blancos have scored in the opening 45 minutes of all three of their away games in the Champions League this season.
