The Burkinabe shone as the Dutch giants progressed to the quarter-finals of the Europa League at the expense of FC Kobenhavn

Chelsea loanee Betrand Traore was once again on the scoresheet for Ajax Amsterdam as his goal helped them secure a Europa League quarter-final berth after overcoming FC Kobenhavn 2-0 on Thursday.

The Burkinabe attacker and Kesper Dolberg were the only scorers in the match played at the Amsterdam Arena as Ajax sealed qualification 3-2 on aggregate having lost the first leg 2-1.

Traore was well placed to pounce home from a rebound after keeper Roben Olsen has parried Amin Younes’ strike back into play in the 23rd minute to open the scoring.

The strike was his eighth in Ajax colours, with the forward having also contributed the assist for four other goals in both the Eredivisie and Europa League. Despite being deployed on his secondary position at Ajax, the 21-year-old has been directly involved in 12 goals in 28 outings.

Six of Traore’s goals have been scored in the Eredivisie whilst he has managed two strikes in Europe.

Andre Onana Ajax

Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana kept his 19th clean sheet of the season in 35 matches, whilst Morocco midfielder Hakim Ziyech also featured in the same match but couldn't add to his tally of 11 goals and 13 assists already – for both FC Twente and Ajax.
