Afolabi Okiki scores four as Jimma Aba Jifar lift Ethiopian Premier League

Afolabi Okiki was on target four times as debutants Jimma Aba Jifar pummeled Adama Ketema 5-0 to win the Ethiopian Premier League title.

The debutants wrestled the crown from record champions Kidus Giorgis on goals difference, with the Okiki smiling home with the Golden Boot after scoring 23 goals in his maiden season.

The former Sunshine Stars sharpshooter, whose career nosedived no thanks to injury teamed up the Westerns after failing to impress Kaizer Chiefs during trials.

And at the Jimma Stadium, the 23-year-old found a new lease of life under coach Gebremedin Haile and rediscovered his scoring form to become the first non-Ethiopian player to score 23 goals in a season.

Overall, he helped the debutants emerge as champions and they will feature in next season’s Caf Champions League.
