AFC Leopards: Why we have to be 'serious' with the Shield Cup

Shield Cup defending champions AFC Leopards will on Wednesday play Mwatate FC in the third round.

Ingwe has been inconsistent this season in the league, but three wins will help the side successfully defend the title. Team manager Gilbert Selebwa is aware of this and he says there are no push overs in this competitions.

“It is a competition, a knockout competition and that makes it even trickier. One mistake and you are gone meaning every match has to be taken with the seriousness it deserves. Mwatate are in this round by merit, meaning they are a good side.

“We have to be serious with this competition because it is our only realistic chance of getting into continental football. We have to make sure we give it our best,” Selebwa told Goal.

The match between Leopards and Mwatate will be played as from 2.00pm before Gor Mahia takes on Posta Rangers at 4pm.
