Aduana Stars coach reveals plan to break out of Caf Confederation Cup group stage

Aduana Stars coach Yusif Abubakar has shed light on how they intend to qualify from the group stage of the Caf Confederation Cup ahead of Sunday's opener with ASEC Mimosas of Cote d'Ivoire.

The Fire Boys, who are making their debut in the continental inter-club championship, are set to play as guests to the Black and Yellow at Stade Felix Houphouet Boigny in Abidjan.

After the Ivorian challenge, the Dormaa-based side play next Moroccan club Raja Club Athletic later this month before facing AS Vita Club of Congo DR in July. Both games will be at home.

“Everybody in the team is determined," Abubakar told Light FM.

"The boys are poised for the game against ASEC on Sunday.

"We are ready for the game and we hope to bring the needed result to Ghana.

"We want to make sure we have at least seven points from the first three games.

"We are playing our next two games at home and we will make sure we get the maximum points.

“Seven points will be very good for us.”

Aduana are playing in the Confederation Cup after being dumped out of the Champions League in the second round.

They beat Fosa Juniors of Madagascar 7-3 on aggregate in the playoff round to reach the group stage.
