Vincent Aboubakar scores and gets sent off in Besiktas rout

Cameroon attacker Vincent Aboubakar continued with his splendid goalscoring form of late but endured a bittersweet outing as he netted and got sent off in Besiktas’ 4-1 rout over Olympiakos in a Europa League match played at the Vodafone Arena on Thursday.

A brace from Ryan Babel and another strike from Cenk Tosun saw Senol Gunes's men walk out big victors.

The talisman had opened the scoring with his fifth goal in eight European matches and his sixth goal in his last eight competitive games for Besiktas before he was shown a straight red card for a violent conduct.

Having also scored the equaliser in the 1-1 draw in Rostov, Aboubakar followed this up by expertly guided the ball into the back of the net with a well-taken header from Talisca’s cross in the tenth minute to hand the hosts a 1-0 lead.

However, the forward's good work was undone by an ill-advised altercation with an opponent.

Seemingly incensed by what an opponent had uttered, the Indomitable Lions talisman was dismissd after headbutting his adversary.

The victory sees Besiktas through to the quarter-finals after a 5-2 aggregate success, and they will meet Olympique Lyonnais in the final eight.
