A-League grand final tickets being sold for over $1000

A-League fans could be forced to spend more than $1000 for tickets to the grand final between Newcastle Jets and Melbourne Victory at McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday night.

Football Federation Australia announced on Monday afternoon that the game was a sellout, with more than 30,000 people expected to cram into the Hunter Valley arena.

Within minutes of news spreading about the full house, tickets started appearing on Ticketmaster's Resale site - with two seats advertised for nearly $1300.

Supporters took to social media to show their dismay at the legal scalping - many believing that people had purposely bought tickets in the anticipation of a sellout for financial gain.

Saturday's crowd at McDonald Jones Stadium is expected to be the biggest at the venue since its recent redevelopment.
