A Hazard warning for Liverpool as Chelsea look to continue Anfield run

12:00 pm AEST 12/4/19
Liverpool v Chelsea
The Blues star could wreck havoc for the Reds

His side may be out of the title race, but Chelsea star Eden Hazard could still have a very big say on who is crowned Premier League champion this season.

The Belgian will visit Anfield on Monday (AEST) on the back of a delightful double against West Ham and Liverpool must be wary of his ability to single-handedly ruin their title aspirations.

Despite the Blues patchy form this season, Hazard has regularly stepped up, with his 16 goals and 12 assists seeing him involved in more Premier League goals this campaign than any other player.

Chelsea are no stranger to spoiling a Reds title push either with their recent form at Anfield another hurdle Jurgen Klopp's side must leap to keep pace with Manchester City.

Liverpool have failed to win their past six league games at home against the Blues - they've never gone on a longer winless run at Anfield against a single opponent.

The Reds' struggles against Chelsea extend to Stamford Bridge too with the Blues losing just two of their last 16 matches against Liverpool in all competitions.

Under Maurizio Sarri, Chelsea are still finding their feet but have found some semblance of balance at the right time and have now won three Premier League games in a row for the first time since September 2018.

Though the Blues are set to offer the Reds a stern test, Klopp will back his own side's form to secure a vital three points.

Liverpool have won their past six games in all competitions, lost just once in 2019 and are unbeaten in their last 37 Premier League games at Anfield.

With four league games against Cardiff City, Huddersfield, Newcastle and Wolverhampton to come - Chelsea loom as the Reds trickiest opponents.

In Hazard, the Blues are once again capable of throwing a banana skin into the title race however and it's one Liverpool must find a way to deal with if they want to end their Premier League title drought.
