Central Coast Mariners midfielder Tom Rogic is nearing a move to Scottish Premier League giants Celtic, with the Central Coast Mariners agreeing a fee for their player Indonesia   By PADDY HIGGS

Tom Rogic will enter negotiations with Celtic after an undisclosed fee was agreed between the Scottish Premier League powerhouse and the Central Coast Mariners.

The 20-year-old's future has been the leading A-League transfer story in January, with English Premier League clubs Fulham, Queens Park Rangers and Reading also holding an interest in his signature.

But having departed Australia last Thursday to join Celtic on trial for their mid-season training camp in Spain, it now appears Rogic is destined for a move to Glasgow.

"Central Coast Mariners FC wish to officially advise that terms have been agreed for the transfer of Tomas Rogic to Celtic FC," a club statement read.

"Rogic will now travel to Glasgow from Spain with 'The Bhoys', and will discuss personal terms with the Scottish giants over the coming days."

The move is still subject to personal terms between Celtic and Rogic, with the fledgling Australia international expected to cost between AU$600,000 and AU$750,000.

He could be one of several talented Mariners youngsters to depart the league leaders in the January transfer window.

There is interest in goalkeeper Mat Ryan from the United Kingdom and Scandinavia, while striker Bernie Ibini has joined Belgian outfit Club Brugge on trial.
