Socceroos attracting Russian transfer interest

After strong showings at the World Cup, Russian Premier League clubs have reportedly expressed interest in Socceroos duo Andrew Nabbout and Josh Risdon.

Both players have started Australia's two games to date with Nabbout unlikely but determined to face Peru after dislocating his shoulder against Denmark.

According to The World Game, Nabbout's agent has received communications from clubs in Russia who have liked what they've seen.

Having only just moved to Japanese side Urawa Reds however, a move to Russia is unlikely for the 25-year-old attacker whose stock has risen rapidly over the past year.

Risdon on the other hand, has said he's open to a move if the right offer came up but is still contracted to A-League side Western Sydney Wanderers.

His agent, Tony Ralis, revealed the defender has turned heads in Russia and wider Europe.

“Josh has had two enquiries from Russia and one from continental Europe,” Rallis told The World Game.

“But talk is cheap and we will see what eventuates."

The Socceroos impressive performances in Russia has seen interest in a number of other players also peak with Aaron Mooy and Daniel Arzani particularly grabbing the attention of clubs
