Host Zoo thumped visiting Chemelil Sugar 2-0 to move a place up to 13th in Kenyan Premier League table.
Kipkirui gave Zoo the lead in the 14th minute after he was fed with a wonderful cross from Bernard Odhiambo, his header going past hero-come villain, Adira, who would later be shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Odhiambo.
Kipkoech justified why he was picked ahead of Demonde Selenga when he double Zoo’s advantage in the 69th minute despite Chemelil Sugar’s effort to find an equalizer. Zoo had gone for close to two months without a win, their last, before this match, coming on May 20 when they beat Bandari FC 3-2.
Chemelil lost their second match in four game and now lies 10th on the table on 21 points. Ulinzi Stars are currently top of the table with 31 points.
