90' + 5' FULL TIME; WESTERN SYDNEY WANDERERS 1, SYDNEY FC 0 - It's all over at ANZ Stadium and this Sydney Derby will be talked about for some time yet as an epic encounter comes to its conclusion. With talking points aplenty, the Wanderers have survived three potential penalty decisions in an encounter which turned quite spiteful late-on. Through it all, Western Sydney have snapped their losing sequence in Sydney Derbies and in the process, handed Sydney their first loss of the season. A memorable night finishes with the Wanderers 1-0 victors.
90' + 2' PENALTY DENIED - This WILL be scrutinised. Make no mistake. Tensions already at boiling point as Brosque cuts his way into the box for Sydney. With Cornthwaite for company, the latter hangs out a leg which hauls down the Sydney striker. It's a penalty every day of the week; not tonight however.
90' Five minutes of added time is confirmed at ANZ Stadium.

88' YELLOW CARD WANDERERS - They continue to rack up as Sotirio now intentionally delays play in order to prevent Sydney FC from taking a quick free kick. Simon doesn't appreciate the time-stalling though and runs over to push Sotirio off the ball. Not sure how Simon didn't cop a card?

83' DOUBLE SAVE - This is crazy. Absolutely CRAZY. With Brosque finding Bobo seven yards out, the latter receives over his shoulder and brings the ball to ground. Hitting it heavily from close range, Janjetovic spreads himself to smother the shot before Neville somehow turns clear the scuffed follow-up from Bobo. Stunning.
81' SAVED - Stunning 'keeping from Vukovic once more as Sydney FC somehow stay alive. With Sotirio receiving from seven yards out, he hits a low shot towards the middle of goal which deflects late off Wilkinson. Destined for the back of net, Vukovic's glovework somehow tips the ball into the woodwork. Incredible.
Yellow Card
79' YELLOW CARD WANDERERS - Beath's patience has well and truly worn off now as Baccus challenges late and clumsily. This time around it's Zullo who cops the late challenge as the Sky Blues looked to open up their left side. Beath's across with a yellow card and a stern head shake.
76' SAVED - Vukovic keeps Sydney FC alive for the time being as Martinez is able to turn sharply away from two defenders. With space opening up, Martinez lets fly with a hefty volley which is searing towards the top left corner before Vukovic swats it away. Remarkably, WSW still lead 1-0 with 14 minutes remaining.
Yellow Card
73' YELLOW CARD WANDERERS - This isn't good. At all. Santalab now picks up the third yellow card in the last eight minutes for what can only be described as a truly terrible effort. With Ninkovic cleanly in possession, Santalab closes in from behind and scrapes his studs down the Sydney striker's ankles. This is bubbling over.
Yellow Card
71' YELLOW CARD WANDERERS - It's teeing off now and Referee Beath will do well to keep this under wraps as both teams clash. With Baccus cynically bringing down O'Neill, players clash physically with plenty of push and shove. From it all, it's Nichols who picks up a card for a heated response.
69' CHANCE - This is going to be some last 20 minutes at ANZ Stadium as Grant works his way through traffic down the right. Bending in a cross meant for Bobo, Janjetovic misses the ball completely before it finds Zullo outside the box. Opting for a lofted shot, Zullo's effort is admirable but wide from 20 yards.
67' CHANCE - This would have something for the Sydney Derby script as Antonis, who's no stranger to Sydney Derbies, lines up a free kick against his former club. With Vukovic setting the wall, Antonis curls a cracking effort over the wall and inches wide of the near post from 30 yards.
Yellow Card
65' YELLOW CARD SYDNEY FC - Amazing to think that we've gone 65 minutes before the first card of the contest. It's O'Neill who receives it and it's well deserved as Sotirio looked to be breaking on the counter before the Sky Blues defender hauls him down. Feelings starting to rise in this one; epic finish coming up.
63' CHANCE - This won't be 1-0 for much longer as Sydney FC are now surging forward as they look to find the leveller. With Zullo working a ball to Brosque, the latter lays off a close range pass to Ibini who shoots from 12 yards but sees his shot blocked. Western Sydney under enormous pressure now.
61' HANDBALL!?! - Sydney fans are livid as is their coach Graham Arnold as the Sky Blues send in a corner from the right. Miscontrolled on the first touch by Ninkovic, the ball sits up and collects Nichols on the hand at point-blank range. Referee Beath is on the spot but questionably, doesnt award the penalty.
59' CHANCE - Absolutely top class defending saves the Wanderers as Zullo bends in a ball from deep inside the left channel. With Ibini arriving at the back post in an effort to turn it home, Clisby throws up a clinically timed right boot to chip the ball over the crossbar. Amazing.

53' Clear cut opportunity wasted here as Nichols pressures Buijs into a defensive error. With the ball then laid across the top of the box, Martinez dawdles too long in possession which sees the final ball into the area turned clear. Martinez should've at least loaded up from 20 yards.
51' CHANCE - Sydney FC fall asleep as Western Sydney hit them on the counter. With Nichols taking on the entire Sky Blues backline himself, he cuts inboard and sets sight for home from the left. From 10 yards out, Zullo hares back quickly to nip the ball clear in the nick of time.
49' How exactly is this not a card-worthy effort as Sotirio takes after a through ball but is outflanked by Grant. With the byline looming, Sotirio takes hold of Grant and throws him over the line and almost into the advertising boards. Grant reacts by giving him a spray; Referee Beath just looks on.
46' Underway in the second half at ANZ Stadium.
HALF TIME; WESTERN SYDNEY WANDERERS 1, SYDNEY FC 0 - This is set up beautifully for the second half as we break after a free-flowing and highly energetic first half at ANZ Stadium. With Sydney FC controlling play for the most part, it's the Wanderers who would deliver a sucker-punch as Santalab stroked home with 26 minutes played. Since then, the Sky Blues have continued to mount chances however a combination of poor finishing and urgent defence from Western Sydney sees the hosts clinging to a 1-0 lead at the interval.
43' CHANCE - Sydney FC come perilously close to assisting Western Sydney with another goal as Clisby provides an overlapping run down the left. With a ball turned across the face of goal, Santalab can't arrive to stroke it home before Zullo's clearance almost ends up in the back of the net.
40' CHANCE - Great opportunity for the Wanderers to go up 2-0 as Neville weaves his way down the right for the hosts. Whipping in a precise cross, it's Nichols who rises as high as possible however his header from five yards out is pulled to the left. Nichols is livid with his effort; rightfully so.
38' Oooooft. This wouldn't tickle as Santalab now throws himself off his feet in an attempted bicycle kick from close range. Whilst the accuracy is well off, the effort sees Santalab teeing the ball straight into O'Neill's head as the former is warned for a high-foot.
36' Referee Beath still happy to keep the cards tucked away as Martinez takes on two defenders on the right wing. With a sharp cutback, Ninkovic continues his run and essentially shirt-fronts Martinez into next week. Beath's over to calm things down but Ninkovic's pretty damn lucky.
34' Some serious questions now being asked of the Sydney defence as Nichols works his way into promising field position. Close to the byline, Nichols squares off a ball which almost finds Martinez however Grant's confident header stops the foray dead.
32' Close run thing again for Sydney FC as Zullo comes into his own down the left channel as he's afforded acres of room. Looking inside with an aerial ball, Ninkovic is present however Neville's defending is timely and clears the issue for Western Sydney. Nice ebb and flow with the contest now.
30' SAVED - Straight back onto the front foot come the Sky Blues as Bobo sears his way free down the left. Able to get to the byline too easily, he turns a bullet cross into the middle of the area. Arriving at speed, Brosque throws his frame at it and steers a header goalwards however Janjetovic saves it at a comfortable height.
Goal
27' GOAL WANDERERS; WESTERN SYDNEY WANDERERS 1, SYDNEY FC 0 - Well. This just lights the powderkeg that is ANZ Stadium as Nichols turns a ball into the box from the top left corner. Dropping at the feet of Santalab, he feigns a first touch before turning around Bobo to deposit it into the bottom right corner. Over to you Sydney FC..
24' CHANCE - A little opportunity for the Wanderers which have been few and far between so far as Nichols orchestrates. With a cute lofted ball delivered into Sotirio's path, the latter weaves his way towards the box before he's shut down by Buijs. Sydney FC need to be more than wary; Nichols looks capable.
21' CHANCE - Exquisite build-up from the Sky Blues as once more they thrust through their right channel. With Brosque turning supplier, the pass inboard is fielded by Brillante who immediately goes back to find Ninkovic. With the latter getting inside, he tees up Bobo however Bobo's shot from 12 yards is skewed and ultimately wasted.
18' Sydney's right side is the outlet which they're enjoying the bulk of their success as Brosque and Grant link up. On this occasion though the Wanderers are urgent enough in defence to quell the foray as Aspropotamitis manages to clear for the hosts. Western Sydney under the pump.
16' SAVED - Inch by inch the Sky Blues are getting closer to the opener as Grant tees up Brosque. With an angled run across goal, Brosque loads up and hammers a ferocious volley from 35 yards out. It's well on target too however Janjetovic produces a top drawer save to punch it over the bar. Fantastic.
13' CHANCE - It's the Sky Blues coming forward with purpose yet again as Zullo's run takes his past three defenders. With a little game of pinball inside the area, Bobo's then found on the left side of the box. Hitting it first time, Bobo's shot is destined for the left corner before Janjetovic tips it clear.
10' Few players coming off sore and sorry in challenges over the last few minutes as Santalab goes up and over Zullo. To be fair it's a pretty awful effort but Referee Beath for the time being is happy enough to keep the cards in the pocket.
7' Nervy times inside Sydney FC's penalty area once more as Buijs lifts in a free kick from high inside the Sky Blues half. Falling awkwardly, it's Holosko who manages to control it before his attempted juggling act sees the ball hoofed clear by Neville.
5' SAVED - Fantastic work from Nichols as he does well to hold up possession just inside Western Sydney's attacking half. With Sydney's offside trap sprung, Sotirio burns towards home and creates a one-on-one with Vukovic. The latter's positioning is bang-on though as he spreads himself to smother Sotirio's shot cleanly.
2' CHANCE - Worrying signs early for the Wanderers as Ninkovic drops into the left channel and delivers a beautiful lofted pass. Falling nicely for Holosko, his scurried shot towards home from 10 yards out is somehow bundled clear by Cornthwaite. Western Sydney already living dangerously.
1' Our referee for this evening's encounter is Chris Beath. It's his third Sydney Derby with his last encounter back in 2013 netting seven goals in a classic fixture. Will there be as many tonight or will it be a tight and torrid affair? Let's find out; we're underway..
