Liverpool march on, then, as they turn their attention to Champions League duty before facing Manchester United at Old Trafford next week. On this evidence United have plenty to fear. That's all for now. Goodbye!
Liverpool's win takes them top of the Premier League table for now with Chelsea playing away to Brentford later. Klopp will be extremely pleased with his team who are firing on all cylinders and unbeaten in 18 Premier League matches now. Watford drop to 15th with their goal difference having taken a big dent.
Liverpool have put in a five-star display to swat the Hornets aside with ease. Klopp's front three were imperious throughout as Firmino grabbed a hat-trick and Salah and Mane also got on the scoresheet. Ranieri has work to do if he's to fulfil his task of keeping Watford up.
N. Williams
90' + 2' All Williams had to do was put the ball vaguely near Firmino and Firmino did the rest. His movement off the ball has been superb. And that's it!
Roberto Firmino
90' + 1' GOAL! WATFORD 0-5 LIVERPOOL! Firmino gets his hat-trick with pretty much the last kick of the game! Williams enters the box and flings the ball towards the far post. The Brazilian is there again inside the six-yard box to poke it into the net unmarked.
90' There'll be just the one minute added onto the end of this game. Liverpool will be very pleased with their runout.
88' Watford are playing better now but you can attribute it just as much to Liverpool taking their foot off the gas. Ngakia fires a high cross into the box and Sarr's header goes wide.
86' Watford have another throw-in down their left as Hernandez's shot is blocked. Klopp shrugs his shoulders as Kucka is offside and the referee stops Liverpool's counter-attack to give them a free-kick instead.
84' Watford hit the post! They're going to lose now but a goal would give them some succour. The chance comes from a throw-in down their left. Sarr inspires Kelleher into making a fine save, tipping the ball onto the post. The offside flag goes up against Joao Pedro shortly after.
N. Williams
J. Milner
83' Liverpool substitution. Williams will replace Milner at right-back.
82' Joao Pedro is offside from Ngakia's ball forward. Kucka gets his feet tangled up and Tsimikas nips in. Liverpool can't capitalise on the error though.
80' Salah bears down on goal but this time decides to spare Watford's defence. He passes to Milner, who's at right-back now. Mane gets on the end of the Englishman's cross and nods a tame header straight at Foster.
79' Watford earn their first corner of the game off Milner. The ball lands to Sarr who blazes way over from inside the box.
77' Salah races into the box from the left and tries to beat Foster at his near post but the veteran goalkeeper has his angles covered.
75' Keita has a shot blocked from distance. It's only Ranieri's first game in charge, but Watford's 4-4-2 hasn't done them any favours here. Liverpool have found it far too easy to play through them. The Italian might want to have a rethink.
73' Hernandez has Watford's best chance of scoring yet as the Colombian has a pop at goal from the left of the box. It briefly looks like dipping inside the right-hand post before bouncing just wide. Liverpool can afford to let up slightly now but they'll still be annoyed if they concede.
71' Mane is inches away from getting his second goal of the game! The Senegal forward scampers down the left and fizzes an effort just wide of the right-hand post after Firmino is able to supply him.
João Pedro
E. Dennis
69' Watford substitution. Joao Pedro replaces Dennis who's had little to work with here.
68' Liverpool are still searching for a fifth goal. Milner fires wide from the centre of the box, then Keita fires over from Salah's kind pass.
67' The game goes through a bit of a lull. It's understandable now that this is over as a contest. Troost-Ekong is caught offside from Rose's throughball.
A. Oxlade-Chamberlain
T. Alexander-Arnold
64' Alexander-Arnold also gets the last half-hour off. Oxlade-Chamberlain is his replacement.
K. Tsimikas
A. Robertson
64' Liverpool decide to give their flying full-backs a rest with the game well won at this point. Tsimikas replaces Robertson first.
63' Watford see the corner out as Henderson strays offside. They've only got to endure this mauling for another 30 minutes or so.
62' Milner lines up Alexander-Arnold whose thunderous shot from range is blocked by Rose. Liverpool will have another corner.
60' Liverpool just keep on coming as they sense they can rack up more goals. Mane fires high and wide from outside the box.
58' Watford get their first shot on target after almost an hour as Kelleher catches Kucka's effort from outside the box.
57' Liverpool have become the first-ever English top-flight side to score more than three goals in seven consecutive away games in all competitions. Klopp's men are looking back to their best after their mid-season slump last campaign.
J. Ngakia
Kiko Femenía
56' Watford make another change. Their focus now has to be on stopping Liverpool scoring more. Ngakia replaces the ineffectual Femenia at right-back.
Mohamed Salah
54' GOAL! WATFORD 0-4 LIVERPOOL! Liverpool are running riot now as Salah gets his goal! It's a delicious one too as the Egyptian receives the ball from Firmino in Watford's box, beats three defenders and swishes it into the far bottom corner. Watford are heading for a heavy defeat.
Roberto Firmino
54' Firmino's having a great game. That's two goals and an assist for the Brazilian now. Salah's been the star of the show though and deserves his goal.
Roberto Firmino
52' GOAL! WATFORD 0-3 LIVERPOOL! Liverpool counter quickly and Cathcart slides in to prevent Salah from reaching Robertson's cross. The Watford centre-back is lucky not to concede an own-goal as Foster saves, only for Firmino to tap in the rebound.
51' Hernandez carries the ball down Watford's left only to find his run brought to a halt. It's bad news for Watford...
49' Mane stays out wide to fire in a low cross from the left and Cathcart punts it away. Liverpool work the ball to their right and Salah forces a diving save from Foster. Watford clear Alexander-Arnold's corner.
47' Liverpool pick up where they left off as Alexander-Arnold drags an ambitious shot from distance wide. Cleverley gives away a foul by tripping Mane.
46' Watford get the second half started. Bringing Cleverley on might give them more balance in midfield.
T. Cleverley
A. Masina
46' Watford make a substitution during the break. Cleverley replaces Masina. Ranieri's attempt to stop Salah in the first half clearly didn't work.
The last four managers to face Liverpool in their first Premier League game in charge of a club have lost, and it looks like Ranieri will become the fifth. Liverpool have had 83 per cent possession and haven't let Watford have a single shot yet. The Reds will extend their latest unbeaten run to 18 games unless The Tinkerman can come up with something here.
It's all good for Liverpool so far who look far better than they did on their last visit to Vicarage Road. The Reds have been dominant so far, grabbing goals through Mane and Firmino, while Salah has fizzed with energy and skill. Watford look like they're still adjusting to their new boss.
45' + 1' Matip gets back on the pitch and runs back into position as Foster takes the goal-kick. The referee blows for half-time.
45' Alexander-Arnold swings the corner in. Matip is left requiring treatment after taking an accidental whack in the face from Cathcart while nodding wide. There'll be at least one additional minute before the break.
44' Keita tries to reach Salah's dink from inside the D but a Watford man gets there first. Masina gives the ball away to Firmino who earns Liverpool yet another corner.
43' Alexander-Arnold's delivery doesn't lead to anything but Liverpool aren't exactly desperate. They're looking very comfortable as we approach half-time.
41' Robertson finds the feet of Firmino but the Brazilian's touch gives Cathcart the chance to intercept. Liverpool come again and Keita's effort bounces against the crossbar, having taken a deflection on the way through. Liverpool get their sixth corner of the half.
39' Henderson trips Sarr in midfield, giving Watford a free-kick. The hosts fire yet another direct ball towards Dennis but Van Dijk can mop up passes like that all day long.
J. Milner
37' That was a beautifully simple goal as Watford got caught too high up the pitch. Milner may be 35 years old now but the old dog's still got legs.
Roberto Firmino
37' GOAL! WATFORD 0-2 LIVERPOOL! Watford have improved but Liverpool are still better. Mane finds Milner on the overlap down Liverpool's left. The midfielder rolls the ball across for Firmino who taps into an empty net thanks to Salah's dummy run.
35' Robertson gives away a free-kick high up the pitch which Foster takes. It doesn't get Watford anywhere but they're definitely looking more solid.
33' Dennis muscles Alexander-Arnold off the ball but Liverpool rebuild quickly as Keita's cross is blocked. Dennis gallops forward but Matip lies in wait to cut the chance out. Up the other end, Salah darts inside Rose but Sissoko comes across to help out.
31' Kucka hands Liverpool another corner. Watford defend this latest one well too and Sissoko holds off Alexander-Arnold. Liverpool are having to work harder to create shooting chances now.
30' Salah keeps the ball in play near the byline and Liverpool put together a few pretty passing triangles down their right before switching the play to Mane. Mane cuts back for Keita who can't get a clean shot from the edge of the box. Liverpool have another corner.
28' After a rocky start Watford are starting to grow into the game. Cathcart launches the ball forward and Milner shrugs Hernandez off it.
26' Chance for Watford! Keita gives away possession and Sarr slips Hernandez down the inside-left channel. The Liverpool right-back tries his best to put Hernandez off as he enters the box and Kelleher gets low to make the save. Hernandez is offside anyway.
25' Robertson powers into space and eludes Dennis. Liverpool keep the ball moving and Troost-Ekong manages to steal it from Salah before the Egyptian can create anything.
23' Cathcart knocks the ball forward for Femenia and Watford successfully earn a throw-in. The offside flag goes up against Sarr who is playing up front alongside Hernandez.
21' Milner overcooks his pass to Robertson down Liverpool's left. Ranieri looks grumpy with his arms folded. His new team hasn't got off to the best start.
19' The offside flag goes up against Watford and suddenly Liverpool are on the attack again. Salah races behind Masina to reach Alexander-Arnold's sliderule pass and forces Foster into a low stop at his near post.
18' Watford are playing extremely narrow but it doesn't seem to be stopping Liverpool at the moment. The hosts make their first real foray into Liverpool's half but can't stop the ball from going out of play.
16' Keita rolls a pass towards Firmino who's set off on a run towards the inside-right channel. It gets cut out.
15' Salah fluffs a first-time effort inside the penalty area but Liverpool are unflustered. They know they've got this game well under control.
14' Liverpool build up another attack. Sissoko gives away a free-kick and the visitors quickly resume their dominance. They've had 88 per cent of the ball in these opening 15 minutes.
12' Liverpool are well on top. Salah jinks to the edge of the box and arcs an effort towards the top left corner. Foster dives across to keep it out and Femenia knocks the ball out for a corner. Watford survive it.
10' It's worth mentioning that that was Mane's 100th Premier League goal. He becomes the third African player to reach the milestone after Didier Drogba and his teammate Salah, as well as the third player to reach that century without any of the goals being penalties.
Mohamed Salah
8' Mane's finish was clinical but Salah's assist was extremely classy. The Egyptian has been a cut above everyone else in the Premier League so far this season.
S. Mané
8' GOAL! WATFORD 0-1 LIVERPOOL! That didn't take long. Liverpool win the second ball from Foster's ball upfield and Salah plays a beautiful cross towards the centre with the outside of his left foot. Mane latches onto it and slots calmly past Foster.
8' Firmino's throughball down Liverpool's left goes awry and Watford get a goal-kick. Ranieri is shouting from the touchline, urging his players to stay compact.
7' Milner bursts forward from central midfield and has a cross blocked from the byline.
6' Alexander-Arnold spots the run of Mane and tries to free the Senegal international with a ball over the top. Foster anticipates it and races off his line to claim it.
5' Salah plays a cute pass into the feet of Firmino but Watford hook it away. Ranieri's men are in for a long game at this rate.
4' Sissoko slides in to stop Salah bursting into the box from the wing. Liverpool get another corner which Watford see out. The hosts try and fail to launch a counter-attack.
3' Salah has started this game like a man on a mission. He cuts inside from the right and earns Liverpool their first corner of the game. Watford survive it but they're under pressure already.
2' Salah almost gives the visitors the lead straight away! The Egyptian latches onto a cross into the box and blasts a shot at goal. It ricochets off the crossbar and back into play. Watford quickly clear it.
1' Liverpool, playing in their favoured red home colours, get this game underway!
Watford will be glad to have Ranieri in the dugout for this game. The Italian has the highest home win rate against Liverpool in Premier League history, beating them in four of his five attempts. However, Liverpool have never lost back-to-back games against the Hertfordshire side before. Will Watford benefit from their usual new boss bounce?
Liverpool also change three players from their riproaring 2-2 draw with Manchester City. Their Brazilian duo Alisson and Fabinho are completing their quarantine in Spain, so Kelleher and Keita step in. Trent-Alexander-Arnold returns from injury as Milner moves into midfield.
Ranieri's first-ever Watford line-up sees three changes to the team that lost 1-0 away to Leeds before the international break. Hernandez, Cathcart and Masina all come in with Masina, a left-back, playing higher up the pitch. The Moroccan may well be tasked with trying to shackle Salah. Good luck to him.

The last Premier League meeting between Watford and Liverpool saw the Hornets destroy the champions-elect 3-0 in one of the last big upsets of the pre-lockdown era. Jurgen Klopp's Reds will no doubt remember that defeat as they pick up speed again for another title push this season.
Watford's decision to sack Xisco Munoz and replace him with Claudio Ranieri remains strange, with the club currently sat four points above the relegation zone. The Italian's first task is to shore up a defence that has conceded at least once in each of its last 17 Premier League games. However, Liverpool at home is not the ideal game in which to start.
