Shots Off Target
Shots On Target
Atletico wait to find out their next Copa opponents then, although Griezmann's apparent injury will give them cause for concern. They're going to need him for the second half of the season. That's all for now. Goodbye!
Overall, Atletico will be pleased with their outing. They had 20 shots overall in the game and five different goalscorers, although they were of course helped by being far better than their opposition. Rayo exit this season's Copa del Rey, hopefully with fond memories of having tested themselves against the best.
Atletico have eased to an easy victory to reach the Copa del Rey round of 16! The champions were never really threatened by their third-tier opponents Rayo, despite playing the last 15 minutes with 10 men after Griezmann's worrying departure. Three goals in the first half sealed the win, before Griezmann and Felix put a gloss on the scoreline.
FULL-TIME: RAYO MAJADAHONDA 0-5 ATLETICO MADRID

Albiach's shot from outside the box is blocked. Gonzalez, also outside the area, decides to hit the ball on the volley, sending it skidding towards the bottom left corner. It's just close enough to Oblak for him to reach it, but it's a fine hit.
De Paul is fouled by Tassembedo. Rayo are showing few signs of getting on the scoresheet now.
Lodi spotted that Felix had tons of space ahead of him. Felix ran into it and finished the job alone. This has long been an exhibition for Atletico.
GOAL! RAYO MAJADAHONDA 0-5 ATLETICO MADRID! Atletico are a man down but it doesn't matter one bit! Lodi sends Felix scampering down the left. The Portuguese forward cuts inside onto his right foot and ignores Correa to fire into the top right corner.
This is odd. Griezmann has picked up a knock of some kind and looks upset. He's escorted down the tunnel. Atletico have used all their substitutions, so they'll have to see out the rest of this game with 10 men.
Mawi holds the ball up well and lays off to Gonzalez who races towards the byline. Unfortunately for Rayo, he's unable to keep the ball in play.
De Paul can't keep his shot down from outside the box. Griezmann sends Felix running towards the byline and the substitute cleverly flicks the ball back towards the centre with his heel. Rayo nod it safely into the arms of Fernandez.
Carrasco dribbles into the right of the box and drags his shot wide of the left-hand post. Atletico are showing no mercy for their lower-league opponents at all.
De Paul gets a free-kick as he's brought down by Hernandez. Correa goes for goal from the edge of the box and Fernandez catches the shot.
Atletico switched their tempo wonderfully there. Correa only had it in mind to find Griezmann and the substitute did the rest. The champions are well and truly cruising.
GOAL! RAYO MAJADAHONDA 0-4 ATLETICO MADRID! Griezmann gets in on the goals. Atletico carve through Rayo's defence with ease as Correa slips the Frenchman into the box. He takes a touch, skips over a challenge, and fires confidently into the roof of the net.

Suarez also heads off. Joao Felix is his replacement.
Atletico freshen a few more players up. Lemar heads off. Griezmann enters the fray.
Rayo have already had one shot in this half, just one fewer than they did in the whole of the first half. That's promising for the underdogs.
Atletico are preparing more changes down on the touchline. They'll definitely be happy to see the rest of this game out.
Atletico are frustrated by the offside flag. Lodi crosses for Correa first, and Fernandez makes a decent save from the Argentinian's header. Suarez looks to poach a goal for himself, but the flag goes up.
Atletico win a corner off Casado. Simeone and his team will be hoping for an incident-free second half.
Gonzalez has a pop at goal from distance for Rayo. It's blocked.
Things get back underway for the second half after that flurry of substitutions. It's clear that both teams pretty much see this as over as a contest.
Llorente is the last Atletico player to have made way for now. Vrsaljko replaces him at right-back.
Correa comes on for Atletico. Cunha gets the rest of the game off, having grabbed his team's first goal.
Atletico make a change of their own, with their thoughts on Villarreal in three days' time. Gimenez goes off. Koke comes on. Kondogbia will slot in at centre-back.
Vega also makes way. Iturraspe comes on to sit in Rayo's midfield.
Rayo make a substitution at half-time. Albiach replaces the quiet Garcia.
Rayo had two shots to Atletico's 14 in the opening 45 minutes and were easily second best. Now the pressure is off Gomez's men, they can try to have fun and grab a goal against Atleti. It would still be an achievement for them to win the second half.
Atletico were never realistically going to be troubled by Rayo here. The Spanish champions have been entirely comfortable, holding their third-tier opponents at arm's length and punishing their mistakes with clinical finishing. Rayo were unfortunate to lose their goalkeeper Giralt to injury early on, but Atletico are just the better side.

Suarez briefly looks through on goal, but Gonzalez makes a last-ditch tackle in the box to deny him. Lodi is bundled to the ground down the left and the referee plays the advantage.
Atletico are waiting for their next opportunity. Carrasco rolls in an early cross for Cunha who doesn't anticipate it. Fernandez comes off his line to collect it.
Felipe fires a searching ball over the top for Cunha to run onto. Casado sticks a timely leg out to intercept.

Lodi fizzes in a cross from the left that goes over everyone initially. It's kept in play though and Carrasco pulls it back from the byline. Fernandez shows a strong foot to block at his near post.
Atletico's high press is making Rayo anxious at the back. The underdogs clearly want to play their way out, but the Spanish champions just aren't letting them.
Atletico are showing no signs of letting up. Cunha's first-time shot from range flashes wide.
That was a lovely goal by Lodi who only had to guide Lemar's inviting pass into the net. This could be a long game for Rayo.
GOAL! RAYO MAJADAHONDA 0-2 ATLETICO MADRID! Atletico win the ball high up the pitch and Lemar spots Lodi bombing forward on the overlap down the left. The Frenchman picks out the left-back who arrows into the top right corner a via a slight deflection.
Atletico work the ball nicely to the edge of Rayo's box but can't find the right final pass. On second viewing, Cunha was just offside when he received the ball from Carrasco for Atleti's goal. There's no VAR here though so the error was missed. That's a shame.
Suarez tries to pick out Cunha in the box but his attempted pass is just a little in front of the Brazilian. Contrary to pre-match reports, Rayo are matching Atletico's 4-4-2. It's not really helping them.
Lemar's shot from the centre of the box is blocked and Fernandez keeps out Suarez's follow-up effort. Atletico get a corner which Gimenez heads over.

GOAL! RAYO MAJADAHONDA 0-1 ATLETICO MADRID! Rayo's Ghanian left-back Osei plays himself into trouble and tries to clear on the turn. Atletico win a free-kick near the halfway line as Susaeta impedes Kondogbia. The nominal away side take it short and float it into the box. De Paul's cross is steered into the net by Cunha but the flag immediately goes up for offside.
Surprisingly, Rayo have edged possession so far. They've had 51 per cent of the ball. Atletico prefer to play without it. Old habits die hard, even for a team that are big favourites to proceed.
It's all Atletico so far as you'd expect. Lemar has a shot blocked from outside the box, before Suarez fires harmlessly off-target. De Paul blasts a speculative shot high and wide from distance.
Giralt makes his way off the pitch. You have to feel sorry for the Rayo man. Fernandez replaces him in goal.
Giralt is shaking his head. It looks like he'll be unable to continue as Rayo prepare a substitution. Rayo already have a serious challenge in front of them. This won't help them a bit.
Giralt, Rayo's second-choice goalkeeper, looks in difficulty straight away. He parries Kondogbia's header from Lemar's cross before blocking Suarez's shot from point-blank range. Atletico get a corner, but Giralt has hurt his hand. There's a delay while he receives treatment.
And we're underway!
The two teams are out on the pitch at Wanda Metropolitano. Rayo are playing in their white and blue home kit. Atletico are in their preferred red and white colours.
Atletico also make three changes from their 2-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano in LaLiga four days ago. Llorente, Felipe and Cunha start.
Rayo make three changes from their last game, their 1-0 victory over Malaga last December which brought them to this stage of this year's Copa. Giralt, Gonzalez and Raul Sanchez come in as they move to a back three.

For Rayo, this game marks history as the first time the third-tier side from Madrid have ever played in the Copa round of 32. Abel Gomez's Majariegos have already seen off Eldense and Malaga to make it this far. Whatever the outcome, they'll relish the opportunity to face cross-city giants Atleti in front of a curious crowd.
Reigning Spanish champions Atletico will welcome the diversion of their first game in this year's Copa del Rey. Diego Simeone's men already have a mountain to climb when it comes to defending their LaLiga title, so the cup offers a more realistic chance of silverware for the 10-time winners.
