UEFA Champions League
UEFA Europa League
UEFA Conference League Qualifiers

That is all from this Premier League fixture, until next time!
Newcastle, whose 1-0 win takes them to 42 points, end their season at Fulham on Sunday. The Blades’ last Premier League game before their return to the Championship sees them host Burnley.
The Blades had the first chance of the game and started the better of the two sides as McGoldrick powered wide in the opening stages. Willock and Shelvey both forced good saves before Willock opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time. The loanee's sixth consecutive Premier League goal proved to be the difference, with the visitors offering little at the other end, barring McGoldrick's second-half attempt which hit the crossbar. The Magpies' fans will go home satisfied as they see their side win 1-0 on their return to St. James' Park.
90' + 5' McGoldrick wanders into the right-hand channel and Shelvey needlessly fouls the forward. Norwood whips in a teasing set-piece delivery but the chance to equalise fades away as numerous attackers from the visitors get caught offside.
90' + 4' Ramsdale gets himself into a bit of trouble with some lazy touches inside his own area. The goalkeeper seems to have fouled Gayle, however, referee Jones opts for the other way and gives a free-kick to the away side.
F. Seriki
J. Bogle
90' + 3' A Premier League debut comes for Seriki as he replaces Bogle in the closing stages.
90' + 2' Dubravka is clutching as his hamstring again and the physio is required to come on once more to spray the goalkeeper's leg. After a brief pause in play, referee Jones gets the game back underway and Dubravka looks fine to carry on.
90' There will be five minutes of added time as Newcastle continue to defend their slender one-goal advantage at St. James' Park.
89' Basham and Bogle hover in the right-hand channel but they're forced into going backwards as the away side remain patient in their search for a late goal. Can the Blades find a late moment of magic?
87' The visitors remain intent on searching for an equaliser, however, they just can't make the ball stick up top at the moment. The hosts are persisting with their deeper defensive line and, as of yet, Heckingbottom's men have lacked the quality to unlock Dubravka's defence.
A. Carroll
J. Willock
85' Willock's battle with an ongoing injury in this game comes to an end as he limps off to be replaced by Carroll. The Magpies in the ground stand to their feet to applaud the loanee, who has been a revelation for Bruce's side in the last two months or so.
83' Dubravka decides he is fit enough to get up and get back to business as he kicks long out of his hands. The Blades may start firing in shots and crosses from all over the place now, just to test how fit and capable the goalkeeper really is.
82' Another Newcastle player requires medical treatment and this time it's Dubravka who the physios tend to. The goalkeeper kicked a short pass and seems to be indicating an issue with his hamstring. Gillespie looks ready on the touchline while it remains unclear if the goalkeeper will carry on.
81' The Blades have won each of their last three Premier League games played on Wednesdays, including both such matches played this season (2-1 vs Manchester United, 1-0 vs Aston Villa). Barring a late miracle here, their good run of Wednesday form looks set to be over.
79' The hosts are sitting a little deeper now, inviting Heckingbottom's men to attack and they are duly obliging with their three forwards on the pitch. For now, however, the Magpies have just over 10 minutes to see out to earn another three points.
77' OFF THE BAR! Fleck plays a simple pass to McGoldrick, who dances past Willock before setting his sights on the top left corner. The forward's right-footed strike curves over the head of Dubravka before slamming into the crossbar on its way out for a goal-kick. The Blades were just inches away from equalising but the crossbar denies them for now.
75' Willock is the next of the hosts' players to go down. The loanee seems to be suggesting an issue with his leg, receiving physio treatment before limping off and returning to the pitch within the same minute.
74' In the absence of Saint-Maximin, Willock has taken over the role of being Newcastle's direct runner. The loanee dips and swerves past two tackles in the middle before a poor last pass lets him down, much to the frustration of the home fans.
73' Willock bounces off two tackles through the middle, releasing Almiron towards the left of goal after evading the final tackle of Norwood. Almiron opts for the unselfish option of squaring for Longstaff, however, Robinson is on hand at the back post to clear the danger.
72' The visitors beat Everton 2-0 in their final away game of the first ever Premier League season in 1992-93 – since then, they’ve lost their last away game in each of their three top-flight campaigns, conceding exactly three goals each time.
S. Longstaff
A. Saint-Maximin
71' Longstaff replaces the injured Saint-Maximin as Bruce is forced to make his second substitution.
69' Saint-Maximin goes down after a slip and a strong challenge by Egan. The physios come on for the third time this game as the Frenchman looks to be in a fair bit of pain over on the left-hand side. It looks like this could be the end of Saint-Maximin's involvement here.
R. Brewster
B. Osborn
67' Heckingbottom signals his attacking intentions as he sends on forward Brewster for midfielder Osborn. The substitute will join McGoldrick and Jebbison up top to form a front three against the hosts' three-man defence.
66' Stevens gets a rare opportunity to get his head up in the left-hand channel and crosses towards the back post. McGoldrick is interested but Ritchie does well to outjump his opposite man before pumping a clearance long.
65' Almiron and Gayle exchange a one-two with the former reaching the area as he powers away from Egan. Willock and Saint-Maximin race into the box but Almiron's attempted throughball strikes the leg of Robinson and deflects away from danger.
64' The visitors are sending numbers forward in search of an equaliser and it's leaving them short of defenders at the back. Saint-Maximin looks to capitalise on this on the left flank, however, his final ball lacks the killer instinct and Basham steps in.
62' The Blades are exposed at the back as Almiron leads the counter-attack. The midfielder tries to offload to Gayle but Robinson does well in a one-on-one situation to intercept before the substitute can find space to shoot at Ramsdale's goal.
61' Newcastle have won five of their last six league games against Heckingbottom’s men, though they did lose the reverse fixture in January this season, giving the Blades their first win of the campaign.
60' SAVE! Saint-Maximin latches onto Dummett's pass over the top, bumping Egan off the ball and racing towards the left of goal. The Frenchman attempts a low shot with his left foot towards the near post, which Ramsdale parries away for a corner. Gayle cuts a frustrated figure at the back post as he seems to feel that he may have been a better passing option for Saint-Maximin's final decision there.
59' Osborn tries to cross towards McGoldrick and Jebbison but the ball gets turned behind for a corner. Fleck wanders across to take the set-piece, delivering an outswinging cross, which eventually falls to Norwood, who smashes high over the crossbar from outside the area.
57' Willock progresses into the area after a delicate pass in from the left-hand channel by Saint-Maximin. Egan, however, reads the loanee's run and intervenes before Willock can get the chance to test Ramsdale again.
55' Saint-Maximin is offloaded possession by Almiron on the left flank before skipping past the sliding challenge of Egan. The Frenchman reaches the byline but his left-footed cross that is sent low towards the near post gets cleared by Basham.
54' Almiron powers through the middle, making it over the halfway line before being brought down by Norwood, who is already on a booking. Referee Jones sees it differently, allowing play to go on without giving a free-kick or showing Norwood his second yellow card.
53' CLOSE! McGoldrick, Norwood and Osborn all debate over who is going to take the central free-kick. McGoldrick ends up winning the argument, curling a right-footed effort wide of the wall but also wide of the right-hand post. Dubravka throws himself across to save, however, the attempt goes behind for a goal-kick without the goalkeeper being required to make a save.
52' Some intricate play by the away side sees Basham and McGoldrick link-up on the edge of the area. Basham eases himself onto the floor under the pressure of Shelvey and referee Jones gives what looks like an incredibly soft free-kick in a great position.
51' Saint-Maximin decides to go on his own and attempts an ambitious long-range right-footed effort. Ramsdale watches it all the way as the Frenchman's strike sails high and wide over his crossbar and into the stands at St. James' Park.
49' Norwood curls in a cross from the right-hand side but the ball in flies over the head of all of his team-mates and out for a throw-in on the other side. Much like the first half, when the visitors do cross into the area, they only have Jebbison looking to attack and that means Newcastle's three-man defence win the battle every time.
48' Saint-Maximin releases Willock down the right-hand channel and the loanee looks for Gayle at the near post. Egan, however, reads the game well and intervenes with a sliding tackle in front of the substitute inside the area.
47' Willock (21y 272d) has now scored in six consecutive Premier League appearances, becoming the youngest player in the competition's history to do so. He is also is the third Newcastle player to score in six consecutive Premier League appearances, after Papiss Cisse in 2012 and Alan Shearer in 1996.
46' Referee Jones gets the second half underway!
D. Gayle
46' At half-time, Gayle replaces Joelinton, who picked up an injury in the first half.
Heckingbottom won't be panicking at half-time, given the visitors looked good in parts of the first half. The Blades could call upon Brewster or Lundstram in the second half. Bruce will be delighted with his side's first-half performance and will simply be asking for more of the same from his men.
The Blades started the brighter of the two sides, with McGoldrick steering a low right-footed attempt wide of Dubravka's goal in the opening stages. Shelvey and Willock then both forced good saves from Ramsdale before Willock's header on the stroke of half-time put Newcastle a goal ahead. The hosts head down the tunnel holding a deserved one-goal advantage, much to the delight of the returning Magpies inside St. James' Park.
J. Murphy
45' + 4' Murphy has acres of space on the right-hand side and Saint-Maximin finds the wing-back, who immediately stands up a cross towards the far post. Willock is behind Joelinton, meeting the cross to direct a header into the bottom right corner to open the scoring.
J. Willock
45' + 4' GOOOOOALLLL! 1-0 NEWCASTLE! Saint-Maximin draws the attention of three defenders outside the area before offloading towards Murphy. The right wing-back reaches the byline, clipping towards the far post, where Willock powers a header into the bottom right corner. The hosts take the lead on the stroke of half-time!
45' + 3' SAVE! Almiron releases Saint-Maximin down the left-hand side and the Frenchman races towards the area before squaring across goal with his left foot. Willock has made the run from midfield but his low, left-footed effort towards the bottom right corner gets saved by the incoming Ramsdale.
45' + 2' CHANCE! Murphy receives the ball from a throw-in on the right flank, whipping a teasing cross towards the near post. Joelinton is completely unmarked inside the area, however, the Brazilian can only head over the bar. The Blades are certain the forward was offside but the assistant's flag on the near side stays down.
45' Shelvey takes charge of a corner from the left, curling in an inswinging delivery, which Ramsdale claims at the front post. The fourth official then indicates there will be four minutes of added time, largely owing to the treatment both Shelvey and Joelinton have received this half.
44' Joelinton sprints down the left-hand channel and seems to gesture towards the benches that he isn't fit to carry on. For now, however, the Brazilian remains on the pitch with half-time just a few minutes away.
43' A rare spell of possession comes for the away side as Norwood and Fleck command the midfield and work possession from side to side. Osborn then tries to take on Krafth on the left flank, however, the flag is up for offside against the English midfielder.
42' The hosts take the more direct option as Willock chops in from the right-hand channel and unleashes a powerful left-footed effort towards the top right corner. A combination of Egan and Basham manage to get in the way and intervene before Ramsdale is called upon.
41' Willock dances through the middle of the park, working out to Almiron, who slides towards Ritchie. The Scot cuts inside, crossing with his right foot but Egan climbs the highest to head away in front of Joelinton.
40' Newcastle have scored 15 goals in their last seven Premier League games, more than they had in their previous 18 in the competition (14). The Magpies have scored at least three times in their last two league games, last doing so in three consecutive top-flight matches in April 2006.
38' Stevens rolls the ball out of play to allow Joelinton some medical attention near the halfway line. The Brazilian seems to be suggesting he has got a problem with his knee. A quick spray from the physios and the forward slowly makes his way towards the touchline before returning to the pitch.
37' McGoldrick roams around the right-hand side of the area, looking to cross towards Jebbison at the back post with a delicate chip. Krafth has other ideas, however, as he produces a diving header to clear in front of the 17-year-old forward.
36' WIDE! Egan gets into a grapple with Joelinton and gives away a central free-kick. Shelvey delivers the cross from deep, finding Dummett, who can only head wide to the left of Ramsdale's goal from a tight angle.
35' Despite the visitors' good start, it's now Bruce's men who are dominating proceedings. Saint-Maximin looks like he is going to cause chaos every time he gets in possession and the Blades don't know how to cope with him at the minute.
33' Ritchie is on set-piece duties from the right-hand side, whipping in a left-footed delivery towards the far post. Unfortunately, the Scot's cross misses all of his team-mates inside the box and races out for a goal-kick.
E. Stevens
Yellow Card
31' For Stevens' tug on Saint-Maximin's arm outside the area, the wing-back joins team-mate Norwood in the book.
31' Saint-Maximin collects possession inside his own half, coasting past three tackles before knocking it around Stevens and beating the wing-back for pace. The Frenchman eventually gets dragged down just on the edge of the area and the hosts get a free-kick in another good position.
30' Ritchie takes the hosts' second consecutive corner and a header by Fernandez is comfortably saved by Ramsdale, who moves to his right before diving on the loose ball.
29' Ramsdale's save against Shelvey has left the goalkeeper in a little bit of pain. The game briefly pauses while the physios tend to his wrist. Shelvey then gets play back underway with his corner from the right-hand side, which Bogle flicks behind for another corner.
28' SAVE! Saint-Maximin twists and turns on the left flank, eventually opting to roll back to Ritchie, who whips an inviting delivery towards the six-yard area. Shelvey arrives late, sneaking through the middle to head towards the bottom left corner. Despite the chance being from incredibly close range, Ramsdale reacts excellently to pull off a remarkable save with his right wrist before the Blades avert the follow-up danger.
27' Newcastle have won just one of their last 24 Premier League games played on a Wednesday (D5 L18), winning 4-1 at Bournemouth in July 2020.
26' Murphy hovers over the central free-kick, taking charge ahead of Ritchie and Shelvey. The wing-back sets his sights on the top right corner, however, the wall does its job to jump and block Murphy's right-footed effort.
O. Norwood
Yellow Card
24' Norwood gets dispossessed by Willock outside his own area and then drags down the loanee. For his cynical efforts and tactical foul, referee Jones shows Norwood the first yellow card of the game. The hosts also have a free-kick, 25 yards from goal in a central position.
23' Dummett fizzes a pass into the feet of Almiron, who tries to spin in midfield but instead gets greeted by a strong Egan tackle. The centre-back looks to play forward to Osborn quickly, however, his attempt lacks quality and Newcastle regain possession.
22' Osborn flies into an aerial challenge, catching Shelvey with a glancing blow as the home side's midfielder got to the ball first. The physio rushes on to tend to Shelvey, who quickly gets back to his feet before returning from the touchline a minute later.
20' Ritchie and Bogle clatter into each other in an aerial duel and referee Jones opts to give a Newcastle throw, much to the delight of the returning home fans. After a bright start by the Blades, this game has settled down a little bit and the hosts are working their way into proceedings now.
18' McGoldrick attempts an ambitious first-time volleyed pass through the inside of the right-hand channel for the run of Bogle. The wing-back has escaped the attentions of Ritchie, however, Dubravka rushes out to intervene before Bogle can latch onto the throughball.
16' Osborn and Stevens exchange a few shorts passes before the former whips a cross high towards the back post. McGoldrick looks ready to pounce, however, Dubravka rises the highest to claim the ball above the head of his team-mates Fernandez and Dummett.
15' Almiron intercepts in midfield, quickly passing forward to Saint-Maximin, who evades three tackles on the edge of the area before rolling towards Joelinton. The Brazilian forward cuts in on his left foot but his shot gets crowded out by the numerous defenders in front of Ramsdale's goal.
13' The away side have started the better of the two teams so far, despite the presence of the home fans returning to St. James' Park. Heckingbottom's men are moving possession about with real confidence, perhaps buoyed on by their spirited victory at Goodison Park last weekend.
12' OVER! Shelvey gets too tight to Jebbison and needlessly fouls him on the left-hand touchline. Norwood swings in the deep set-piece and the ball eventually falls to Egan, who crosses from the right-hand side towards the far post. McGoldrick brings it down, dancing past Shelvey before smashing a right-footed attempt high over Dubravka's goal.
10' Newcastle have lost their final home league game in each of the last two seasons, having won five in a row before hand. They last lost more such games consecutively with a run of three between 2006-07 and 2008-09.
9' Great football from the visitors sees Osborn slip Bogle in towards the right-hand side and the wing-back makes it to the byline before drilling across the face of goal. Jebbison is still standing on the penalty spot and, with no other team-mates running into the area, Bogle's inviting delivery goes to waste.
8' Ramsdale comes racing out into an unusually wide position near the byline on the right, however, he does well to usher possession out of play, despite Willock's best efforts to catch the goalkeeper out. A mistake there and the midfielder would have had an open goal to aim at from out wide.
7' WIDE! Osborn leads the counter-attack down the left flank before playing inside to Stevens on the edge of the D. The wing-back takes a touch and then rolls McGoldrick, who from the right of goal sends a first-time, right-footed effort just wide of the left-hand post. The forward immediately goes down and punches the floor as he shows his frustrations for missing such a good opportunity.
6' Dummett's poor touch allows the Blades a throw-in high on the right-hand side. McGoldrick and Bogle exchange passes with the latter crossing towards Jebbison but Fernandez heads away the danger at the near post.
4' Saint-Maximin drops his shoulder one way and then the other, however, Bogle stands firm to tackle the Frenchman to the left of goal. The hosts seem intent on giving him the ball every time they get the chance to so he can get his head down and run at his opposite wing-back.
3' Ramsdale's first involvement of the game comes as he saves a tame Almiron shot from outside the area. The goalkeeper goes long and Fernandez is forced to rush a clearance out towards the left flank as the Blades make their way into Newcastle's half for the first time.
2' Almiron pressures Basham on the left-hand side and wins a corner for his team. Ritchie delivers but Krafth's attempted header is weak and Osborn manages to swing away a clearance with his left foot.
1' Referee Robert Jones get this game underway!
The Blades are looking to complete their first league double over Newcastle since 1978-79 in the second tier, while they last beat them twice in the same top-flight campaign in 1971-72.
Heckingbottom is forced into one change from the win at Goodison Park, with Bogle replacing the injured George Baldock at right wing-back. The 17-year-old Jebbison, who scored the winner against Everton, makes his second Premier League start as he partners McGoldrick up top for the visitors.
Steve Bruce opts for an unchanged starting line-up from the team that lost out in the seven-goal thriller against Manchester City. With Shelvey and Almiron either side of him, loanee Willock starts in the middle and will have the chance to become the youngest-ever to score in six consecutive Premier League games.

The Blades have won just two away games all season, albeit against Manchester United in January and Everton in their last game. The visitors' 1-0 win over the Toffees on Sunday ended a seven-game winless run on the road as they collected their sixth victory of the season. With Paul Heckingbottom’s men already relegated, they only have two games left before returning to the Championship but, given Sunday’s performance, they appear intent on playing for pride and to go down fighting.
Newcastle were narrow 4-3 losers against Premier League champions Manchester City last time out. The Magpies have collected 11 points in their last seven top-flight fixtures to confirm their survival and push them away from a relegation battle with Fulham and West Brom.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Premier League fixture between Newcastle United and Sheffield United.
