Brandon Borrello scored four goals as Brisbane Roar cruised past Global FC 6-0 into the next round of AFC Champions League (ACL) qualifying.
Borrello struck a hat-trick inside the opening 30 minutes at Suncorp Stadium on Tuesday night in Roar's second preliminary round fixture, while Manuel Arana broke his duck.
The Spanish winger scored either side of half-time - his first two goals for Roar - as Brisbane set up a ACL play-off with Shanghai Shenhua next week.
The winner of that match will play in the ACL group stage.
Brisbane stormed out of the blocks against their Filipino opponents and took a deserved lead with Borrello firing the hosts in front with a deflected effort after just 12 minutes.
Borrello's second came in the 26th minute as Global goalkeeper Patrick Deyto crunched Roar striker Joey Katebian, forcing the latter off with a suspected broken collarbone.
Roar moved 3-0 ahead soon after with Borrello completing his hat-trick, while Arana got in on the act with his maiden goal for Brisbane in the 37th minute.
Brisbane's onslaught continued in the second stanza and their persistence was rewarded with Arana netting his second of the night with 25 minutes remaining and Borrello capped off the result with his fourth of the night in the 80th minute.
John Aloisi's side will have to regroup quickly as they host A-League leaders Sydney FC on Friday night before travelling to take on Shenhua next Thursday.
