Ronwen Williams - 5/10
Powerless to stop either goal as Bafana's marking was poor in the box, but apart from that he didn't have a great deal to do for much of the afternoon. - Backpagepix
Thapelo Morena - 6/10
Contributed to Bafana's attacks with some buccaneering forays forward, but he was not seriously tested as Sao Tome launched most of their attacks through the centre. -

Lyle Lakay - 5/10
Got himself into numerous good crossing positions throughout the match, but disappointingly failed to make the most of them on his maiden competitive game for Bafana. - Backpagepix
Mosa Lebusa - 5/10
Shaky performance by the left-footed centre-back and he was caught off-balance for Sao Tome's second goal which was nodded in by Harramiz Soares. -

Thulani Hlatshwayo - 5/10
Failed to keep track of Sao Tome's centre forward Soares, who scored and he was not as dominant as usual in aerial balls. - Backpagepix
Bongani Zungu - 7/10
Great performance from Zungu, who was able to have a greater influence on the Bafana attack from a central role - combing well with his former Mamelodi Sundowns teammates Percy Tau, Keagan Dolly and Themba Zwane. - Backpagepix
Dean Furman - 7/10
Strong tackles and relentless effort as usual by the workaholic and he was able to push forward which saw him grab an assist when Zwane made it 1-1. - Backpagepix
Lebogang Manyama - 6/10
Worked hard in attack providing energy and leadership, while combining well with Tau, Dolly and Zwane, but he did not take his chances in the final third. -

Keagan Dolly - 6/10
The speedy winger was a big threat to the Sao Tome defence in the first-half, but he faded after that and he was replaced by Kermit Erasmus.

Outstanding performance by Zwane, who impressed with his sharp passing, finishing and incisive runs which saw him grab a brace and an assist. - Backpagepix

Luther Singh - 6/10
Replaced Manyama in the 71st minute and helped Bafana get more of the ball in the final third and create many more chances for his side in the closing stages of the match. -

Kermit Erasmus - 7/10
His speed and tricks caused problems for the Sao Tome defence after replacing Dolly and his shot forced Sao Tome keeper Aldair D'Almeida into a good save and Zwane scored from the rebound. - Backpagepix
Motjeka Madisha - N/A
Came on too late to make an impact.
