The handler of the Damaturu based outfit has stated reasons why he would continue to swap his squad as the season progresses.

Yobe Desert Stars’ coach Mohammed Babaganaru says his players’ rotation policy is yielding positive results after his wards secured their first away point of the season in their Nigeria Professional Football League tie against Heartland on Sunday.

Babaganaru and his players embarked on a journey of about 19 hours from Damaturu to Owerri ahead of the league match against the Naze Millionaires but after getting a 1-1 draw the coach disclosed that his decision to rest some of his key players was responsible for their freshness before the league tie.

“If you look at the game we played on Wednesday and Sunday, I made some changes to the team,” Babaganaru told Goal.

"I rested some players that played in that game because I know that it won’t be easy for us combining two matches per week with the players we have. It was this reason that made us adopt the rotation of some of the players.

“We can’t complain about it because we know from the beginning what we will be going into. We will rotate our players as much as possible to ensure we get the desired results.

“We knew that we are in for a tough time before the tie and it was the reason why we prepared in the best way possible. I am happy that we got a point. We shall go back home and review the game before our next game on Wednesday,” he said.

Yobe Stars are ninth in the league standings with seven points from five games and they will welcome Katsina United to Damaturu on Wednesday.
