Yanga are reportedly targeting Mbao FC Head Coach, Etienne Ndayiragije as a replacement for the departed George Lwandamina.
Lwandamina left the club and rejoined Zesco United with no reasons provided for his sudden departure. The former Chipolopolo star left the club facing a tough away second leg clash against Wolayta Dicha on April 18 in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Jangwani club has started the searching for a new coach, and Ndayiragije has emerged as the number one target. Singida United’s Hans van Pluijm is also in their shortlist although they will have to act fast because Azam FC are also targeting the Dutchman.
Goal understand that Ndayiragije asked permission from his current club (Mbao FC) to join Yanga, and the club hierarchy is currently involved in some serious discussions on either to allow him or not.
The Burundian was not in the dugout in the team’s 2-1 win against Njombe Mji in match day 24 of the Premier League. Source close to the coach has revealed that his absence is related to his impending departure to Yanga.
