Win Group B or Spain, Portugal & Germany loom: England's possible last 16 opponents

With four points from their opening two games, qualification for the last 16 of Euro 2016 is almost a foregone conclusion for England.

But their last clash against Slovakia is still of vital importance, as topping Group B would mean staying clear of some of the tournament's toughest sides - not to mention one Cristiano Ronaldo.

A win for the Three Lions on Monday would guarantee them first place in the group, which would set up a match with the third-placed side in Groups A, C or D.

On the current standings those sides would be Albania (the first third-placed team to complete the group stages), Northern Ireland or Czech Republic.

Should Slovakia get the upper hand, however, the plot thickens for Roy Hodgson's men.

A defeat would leave England in the best of scenarios in second place, and on course to meet Group F's runners-up in the last 16 - currently occupied by Ronaldo's Portugal.

If Slovakia and Wales both win, meanwhile, a real Pandora's Box opens should the nation qualify all the same in third.

Either, Germany the probable winner of Group C, or Group D favourite Spain would stand in the way of the Three Lions and further progress in France.
