Midfielder Willard Katsande has set sights on winning a league and cup double with Kaizer Chiefs this season.

Amakhosi have not won a major trophy since Stuart Baxter left the club in 2015, and they have struggled to compete for honours on all fronts under Steve Komphela.

In 2015, the Glamour Boys reached two cup finals - the MTN8 and Telkom Knockout Cup - but lost both to Ajax Cape Town and Mamelodi Sundowns respectively.

"I need to win the league for my team and a cup. I think that will make me happy," Katsande told the media.

"I think by doing that, I'll have a wonderful off-season," he said.

Katsande admitted that their current situation is not sitting well with the rest of the team, but he is confident that Chiefs will soon turn the corner.

"Obviously it has been painful for the club because they used to be known for winning," he continued.

"We are worried about our situation, but everything happens for a reason and this is the time for us to turn the corner," added Katsande.

While the majority of football fans have criticised Chiefs for their lack of quality players, but Katsande feels there is enough quality and depth in the squad to win trophies.

"I still believe we have the quality in the squad so that we can bring a smile to the fans faces," said the Zimbabwean midfielder.
