The Hammers had raced to a two-goal lead at halftime but the Eagles fought back to earn a point and the 24-year-old is happy with the fight they gave

Wilfried Zaha is delighted with the character displayed by Crystal Palace in their 2-2 draw against West Ham United in Saturday's English Premier League clash.

Slaven Bilic's side had taken a two-goal lead at the break courtesy of goals from Javier Hernandez and Ghana’s Andre Ayew superb solo effort.

However, a second-half rally by the Eagles starting with Luka Milivojevic’s well-taken penalty and ending with the Cote d’Ivoire international’s 97th-minute leveler ensured that the game finished all square.

And the former Manchester United winger who has been instrumental for Roy Hodgson’s side since his return from a knee injury spoke of his pride in the fight shown by the whole team and hailed the Palace supporters who never stopped cheering even when they went down 2-0.

“Yes it does because every match is important and so is every point so us managing to get the one point is amazing,” Zaha told club website.

“They scored two quality goals in the first half with two quick counter attacks but it was one of those days where we had to keep going.

“We just had to keep our confidence and do what we were doing because at halftime the gaffer told us we were not playing that badly so we just had to keep at it and in the end managed to get back in the game.

“I am sure everyone that comes to Crystal Palace knows that the crowd is the 12th man for us, they help us massively throughout every game.

“The support here is crazy so having them on our side helps us so much in the game and today we all saw that again," he concluded.

Crystal Palace still sits bottom of the English top flight log with four points from 10 games played so far this season and they will visit the Wembley Stadium next to take on Tottenham on November 5 as they look to move off the foot the table.
