Wazito have signed immediate former Tusker forward Edwin Lavatsa.

Wazito, who are bottom of the log, announced the acquisition of Lavatsa and defender Jackson Saleh on Friday.

Interestingly, Lavatsa joins Wazito barely a week after Posta Rangers announced that they have reached a deal with the player who was released by Tusker early in June.

Rangers had made similar claims on former Tusker goalkeeper David Okello before Mathare United moved in with a better deal to seize player from Rangers’ hands.

“Okello had signed a two-year contract with us but had not signed the card form. So when he told us he has a better offer from Mathare we just let him go. It was an agreement between us and him so there is no case of double signing.

"We could have loved to have him in our team, but again we could not force him,’” Posta Rangers coach Sammy Omollo said moments after Mathare had announced the deal.

It is not yet clear whether a similar script played in Wazito’s case with Lavatsa.

“We are happy to announce the signings of Central Defender Jackson Saleh and Striker Edwin Lavatsa.”

The transfer deadline is set to close on Monday, July 2.
