The 33-year-old, on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with an acrobatic effort in the early stages before rising highest to head home from a corner in the 97th minute, sparking wild celebrations amongst his Osasuna teammates.
Saul Niguez helped Atletico continue their fine form against Alaves, powering home a Kieran Trippier free-kick to set Diego Simeone's side up for a hard-earned 2-1 win on home soil.
Meanwhile at the Estadio de Balaidos, Celta Vigo talisman Iago Aspas came up with another moment of magic to rescue his side a point against Barcelona.
