Vita lose midfielder Eddy Ngoyi to Egyptian side Smouha ahead of Champions League trip to Bantu

The 25-year-old midfielder prominently featured for AS Vita in last season's Caf Confederation Cup which they lost in the final to Raja Casablanca.

AS Vita and DR Congo international midfielder Emomo Eddy Ngoyi has joined Egyptian side Smouha on a three-and-a-half contract.

The midfielder left Vita as they [prepare to travel to Lesotho for Sunday's Caf Champions League first round, second leg clash against Bantu FC.

The Congolese giants arrive in Maseru enjoying a 4-1 lead from the first leg.

But it is the departure of Ngoyi that took center stage on Thursday when the team was readying to leave for Lesotho.

“We have completed the signing of Ngoyi on a three-year contract,” Smouha president Farag Amer was quoted as saying by Kingfut.

Apart from Ngoyi, Vita coach Florent Ibenge has all his players available.

After finishing as last season's Caf Confederation Cup runners-up, Vita have maintained the core of the squad that featured in that run.
