Vinicius Jr Real Madrid 2018-19

WATCH: Vinicius Junior scores stunning free-kick before earning red card for diving

Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior showed the good, the bad and the ugly of his game with a scintillating goal and a red card within the space of five minutes.

The Brazilian is currently honing his trade for Madrid's Castilla feeder side after completing a move from Flamengo over the summer.

And he took centre-stage on Sunday as Castilla met Celta's B side in the Segunda Division B.

With Castilla trailing late on, Vinicius earned a free-kick on the edge of the Celta box and curled a spectacular effort into the top corner to tie the match at 1-1.

That was to be his final contribution to his team's efforts, however.

Just minutes later, the Brazilian was pulled up for simulation and received his second yellow card of the game, having previously been booked for his part in an unseemly set-to with Celta's players as tempers got heated in the second half.

That means he will be suspended for Sunday's Clasico clash with Barcelona, with bans for red cards carrying across all Spain's divisions.

Castilla currently lie in second place in their group, two points off leaders Ponferradina who occupy the only automatic promotion spot.

The team is also unbeaten so far in the season, leading to speculation that coach Santiago Solari could succeed under-fire Julen Lopetegui in the first team.

And if Vinicius continues his impressive form in front of goal while reining in his wilder side, he could also be starring for the goal-starved seniors before too long.
