Victor Wanyama has been ruled out as Tottenham Hotspur host Inter-Milan in the Uefa Champions League clash on Wednesday.
The Kenyan captain is nursing a knee injury that has kept him out of action since Spur’s 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace before the international break.
Wanyama missed Spurs emphatic win over Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday and he will not be ready to face Inter Milan as Mauricio Pochettino plays the waiting game about the possible return of his influential midfielder. "I don't know what the club put out.
"Now we are waiting. We will see what happens. He's not training with the group and he's out. We'll see, we need to wait to give a better update about his problem," Pochettinho said at a pre-match press conference as quoted by Football.london.
Pochettino currently has six players in the treatment table. The list includes midfielder Mousa Dembele who has been ruled out for the rest of the year and defenders Davinson Sanchez and Kieran Trippier. Meanwhile, Danny Rose returned to training and is in contention for a place in the squad to face Milan.
