'They were not spectacular' - Kano Pillars' Danladi Isa criticises Nasarawa United draw

Kano Pillars' Danladi Isa says his side were not troubled by Nasarawa United in spite been held to a 1-1 draw and he insists their opponents 'were not spectacular'.

Coach Kabiri Dogo's men leveled to cancel Sai Masu Gida's first half's opener to force Kadiri Ikhana's side to a home draw for the first time this season on Wednesday.

And the former Plateau United player blamed the draw on some poor calls from the referee, but assured fans they will make up for their lost points in upcoming games.

"Just like every other northern teams coming to Kano to play. It is always like a derby,” Isa told Goal.

"In every game, you expect either you win, loss or draw. Yesterday, we must give thanks to God in the game we lost. We got our goal in the first half and they scored theirs in the second half.The game ended a draw.

"I won't say Nasarawa were not that tough team that could do damage to Pillars. I'm not a fan or person that loves to damage the image of match officials.

"But I must say we played against 12 men on the pitch - the 11 men of Nasarawa and the referee. He really helped them to play today [Wedesday] but we have no cuase to raise any alarm.

"It was not like Nasarawa really gave us a tough battle, but only for the help of some individuals who was eager to assist them get a point out of the game. That's my own definition of the match. They were not spectacular.

"I want to use this medium to apologize to the fans. We are pleading with them to bear with us and telling them we are sorry. We know we've disappointed them against Nasarawa.

"We promise to do every thing we can to make up in subsequent games. We will keep working hard. It is a never say die game and the league is a marathon race in which every team are still struggling. We are still focus as a team and pushing hard to challenge for the title."
