Reds supporters were delighted to see the 17-year-old become the club's youngest ever goalscorer on Tuesday night and have tipped him to have a bright future in the game

Liverpool fans couldn't contain their delight as Ben Woodburn became the club's youngest ever goalscorer with his goal in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night.

The youngster replaced Kevin Stewart after 67 minutes against Leeds United and popped up with his side's second goal to seal a 2-0 win over the Championship outfit.

Woodburn makes his mark just as Gerrard did

That strike, scored in front of the Kop, means he has taken Michael Owen's record and become Liverpool's youngest ever first-team scorer.

And fans of the club are clearly excited at the prospect of seeing him flourish at Anfield, with one supporter even tipping him to be the next Zinedine Zidane!

Liverpool are now through to the semi-final of the EFL Cup, where they will face either Hull City, Arsenal, Southampton, West Ham or Manchester United.

Premier League strugglers Hull knocked out Newcastle on penalties on Tuesday night, while the two other ties will take place on Wednesday night.
