Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Thabo Mngomeni believes the departure of Oupa Manyisa to Mamelodi Sundowns has given an opportunity to many unknown players at the club to stake their claim.
“We can’t complain about it, but it’s a good thing because at least it opens the doors for other player he was competing with to continue from where he left off as a high-placed figure in the team,” Mngomeni told Goal.
Mngomeni added that the move has somewhat refreshed the squad as question marks over Manyisa's performances were often raised.
“It has liven up the team a bit because you must understand people were not happy with his performances and what he gave them for some time,” Mngomeni said.
The Mohlakeng-born midfielder has settled in well at Sundowns; a team he was linked with since January 2015.
