The Kuala Lumpur head coach was understandably pleased after his charges secured their biggest win of the season thus far in thrashing Kelantan.

Home is where the heart is and that mantra is true for Kuala Lumpur in this season's 2018 Super League challenge. Out of six matches played at KLFA Stadium thus far, they have won four of those matches, drawing one and losing the other.

Comparatively they have lost every single one of the five matches that they have played away in the league. The difference couldn't be more stark on Tuesday night as KL steamrolled over Kelantan, pumping five goals past the team in the relegation zone.

Guilherme de Paula (2), Paulo Josue, Ashri Chuchu and Junior Aparecido all got in the act as the City boys ran riot in Match Day 11. The result put some breathing space between them and the drop zone and left head coach Fabio Maciel da Silva very pleased with their performance.

"Last game when we played there (Kelantan), it was the worst game of the year for us. We took many lessons there, especially the attitude of the players. We talked after that and even though we lost to PKNS, we improved."

"We wanted to win today (Tuesday), no matter how we achieved it. A big win is always nice to raise the confidence of the team," said Fabio in the post-match press conference.

Indra Putra Mahayudin and Zaquan Adha were used in wider berths as Josue played alongside Irfan Zakaria and Zhafri Yahya. The trio in the centre of midfield worked tirelessly and complimented each other well in attacking and defensive phases.

Fabio firmly believes that if his team are to stay another season in the top flight, these three players will ultimately be crucial to the cause.

"These three guys are doing good things in the past few games. We showed a lot of fighting spirit and did not make easy mistakes. When the midfielders are doing well, it’s the heart of the team," added Fabio.

KL will have a much trickier tie in the next match when they will travel to Kuantan to face high-flying Pahang at Darul Makmur Stadium on May 25.
