Reports: Kaizer Chiefs keen to sign 2018 Cosafa Cup Player of the Tournament Dax Andrianarimanana

Premier Soccer League (PSL) giants Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly looking to sign Madagascar international Andriamirado ‘Dax’ Hasina Andrianarimanana.

The attacking midfielder played an instrumental role in helping Madagascar reach the semi-finals of the recent 2018 Cosafa Cup in Polokwane, Limpopo Province.

Hasina, who is currently on the books of Malagasy Premier League outfit Fosa Juniors, scooped the Cosafa Cup Player of the Tournament accolade as a reward for his exploits.

The creative midfielder received the award on Saturday with Madagascar having finished fourth in the regional competition after losing 1-0 to Lesotho’s Likuena at the new Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday.

His exploits for Barea in the tournament have not gone unnoticed as he is said to have attracted interest from Chiefs ahead of the July-August transfer window.

SABC Sport have reported that Amakhosi have contacted Hasina, who helped Juniors qualify for this year’s Caf Confederation Cup after winning the 2017 Coupe de Madagascar.

The four-time PSL champions are said to be in an advanced talks to sign the 27-year-old attacker according to the TV broadcaster as they look to beef up their squad ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung recently stated that they were scouting for talented players at the Cosafa Cup in Limpopo.

The Amakhosi official indicated that they could make changes to their squad even before announcing their new head coach.

The Chiefs coaching job is currently vacant since the departure of Steve Komphela, who resigned as the club’s head coach towards the end of the 2017/18 season.

Zimbabwean duo Edmore Chirambadare and Teenage Hadebe, Venezuelan striker Gustavo Paez and Colombian marksman Leonardo Castro are the four foreigners, who are currently registered with the PSL.

This means the Soweto giants have only one space available for a foreigner.

Zimbabwean midfield maestro Willard Katsande is registered as a non-foreigner having received his permanent residence permit two years ago.
