Pyramids complete signing of West Brom defender Ali Gabr

Egypt international defender Ali Gabr has completed a move to Pyramids FC from Zamalek, after an unsuccessful loan spell at West Bromwich Albion.

English Championship side West Brom decided against activating a buy-out clause on Gabr who spent six months with them until their relegation from the Premier League in May.

Fresh from the failed World Cup excursion with Egypt, Gabr joined Pyramids FC for an undisclosed period and transfer fee.

“Just signed Egyptian team international Ali Gabr from Zamalek to officially join Pyramids Club,” Pyramids FC announced on Twitter.

Gabr’s move comes soon after Pyramids poached another Zamalek player, midfielder Ahmed Tawfik.

Pyramids have also made an offer for Al-Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy who personally enjoyed a fine outing with Egypt at the World Cup.

Saudi Sports Authority chairman Turki Al-Sheikh recently bought Pyramids FC from El Assiouty’s franchise and has been bankrolling the club's spending spree.

They have managed to lure Brazilian coach Alberto Valentim together with his compatriots Lucas Ribamar and Keno, among other players.
