One man who is leaving the Bundesliga giants this summer for the Premier League is expecting a former team-mate to remain on course for the top

Christian Pulisic says “the sky’s the limit” for Jadon Sancho and believes that, while they are letting him leave for Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund will have a future plan for the England international.

Admiring glances continue to be shot in the direction of those Bundesliga sides prepared to put their faith in youth.

A senior platform is being granted to those denied one elsewhere, with Sancho among those to have benefited from that philosophy following a brave move from Manchester City in 2017.

He has quickly become a star for club and country, at just 19 years of age, and is being tipped to reach the very top of the game.

United States star Pulisic has been in a similar position before, with the talented playmaker still only 20 despite having been around for several years and earned himself a Premier League transfer.

His career is taking him in a different direction this summer, but he believes that those he is leaving behind in Germany will continue to thrive.

Pulisic told Sky Sports of Sancho and the remarkable progress he has made in a short space of time: “It was incredible to see him develop, he came a long way.

“Just when he started out he was in a similar situation to me - it was tough for him, he didn't know the language, I mean he's still working on it but he's a great player.

“You can obviously see the talent that he has and me and the other guys tried to just help him along and do what we can.

“Obviously he had such a standout season and I'm happy for him, it's great to see.”

Speculation is already suggesting that Sancho is destined to follow Pulisic through the Dortmund exits at some stage.

A return to England has been mooted, along with interest from the likes of Real Madrid, but his current club have stated on a regular basis that they have no intention of cashing in.

“I definitely think Dortmund [have] plans with him and he obviously had a great season this year,” added Pulisic.

“So I think they're just hoping for more of that to come and that for next season he can help them in the title race again and hopefully try to win it next year.”

Sancho came close to delivering a Bundesliga crown this season, only to see Dortmund surrender a commanding lead at the summit to finish as runners-up behind Bayern Munich.

More challenges for major silverware are expected, with club and country, and Pulisic believes the talented teenager is destined to become a global superstar.

“The sky's the limit for him,” the USA international said when quizzed on the potential of a former team-mate.

“Like I said, you can see the talent that he has. If he continues to work and put in the time like he is now, then he can take it a long way.”
