Portuguese coach applies to handle Vihiga United

A coach from Portugal as applied to take over at promoted side Vihiga United.

This comes few weeks after head coach Edward Manoah resigned from the position despite helping the side to promotion. The club chairman Kahi Indimuli has confirmed that the club will hire a new coach and that already one from Portugal has shown interest.

“I would like to notify you that top coaches from the country and abroad among them a Portuguese technician have shown interest,” Indimuli revealed in a signed statement obtained by Goal.

Indimuli also confirmed that they have elavated assistant Tom Tera to take over as coach on acting capacity as they strive to hire a new boss.

“Following the resignation of Manoah the Executive Committee met and made the following resolutions. Club's assistant coach Tom Tera to take over as coach in an acting capacity.

“Tera alongside other technical bench members will make preparation for the start of the pre-season training that is expected to commence on December 28.

"The EC would like to take this opportunity to invite applications from prospective candidates for the position of head coach including Manoah himself for interviews.

“The applications should reach the EC before Friday this week. Applications can be send via team's email vihigaunitedfootballclub@gmail.com or delivered to the chairman at Chavakali High school.”

Indimuli regretted the resignation of Manoah but assured the fans that a new qualified coach will be unveiled soon. “The EC regrets Manoah's resignation but we want to assure players and fans that soon a qualified coach will be hired to take charge of the club.”
