The Portuguesse Football Federation have confirmed an international friendly between Portugal and Egypt for March 23 at the Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich.
Hector Cuper’s men will begin their preparation for the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Switzerland with an encounter against Fernando Santos’s squad.
Both sides have only met twice on the international scene with the Selecao das Quinas claiming victories on both occasions in 1995 and 2005.
“The March games are already defined and we're going back to Switzerland! Portugal x Egypt, Portugal x Netherlands,” the Portuguese FA tweeted.
Egypt who will be playing in the quadrennial event for the first time in 28 years have been drawn in Group A with hosts Russia, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia.
They begin their campaign against 2010 World Cup semi-finalist, Uruguay at the Ekaterinburg Arena on June 15.
