Porto’s Marega set sights on Primeira Liga title after Portimonense drubbing

The Mali international is pleased with the team’s victory over Vitor Oliveira’s men as the Dragons edge closer to their first league title since 2013

Porto forward Moussa Marega has started the countdown of matches left to win the Portuguese top-flight title after their 5-1 defeat of Portimonense on Sunday.

The 26-year-old increased his tally to 19 goals in 23 league matches this season with a brace as the Dragons grabbed an important away win at the Estadio Municipal de Portimao.

Sergio Conceicao's side extended their dominance at the summit of the Primeira Liga with Marega's first-half brace and goals from Otavinho, Tiquinho and Yacine Brahimi that earned them their 20th win in 24 league games this campaign.

With five points adrift of second-placed Benfica and with 10 league games remaining for the season, the former Amiens forward is eyeing his first league trophy with the Estadio do Dragao outfit.

"Great victory, Congratulations to all adepts through great support,” Marega wrote on Instagram.

“2 goals, 1 assist, Al Hamdoulileh. Congratulations @tiquinho_soares_29 @brahimiofficiel @otaviomonteiroo for the goals.

“Congratulations @diogodalot for the 2 assists. 10 More Finals.”
