OFFICIAL: William Twala joins Maritzburg United on loan from Kaizer Chiefs

The 27-year-old managed only six appearances for Amakhosi during the first half of the current season

Kaizer Chiefs have announced that William Twala will spend the remainder of the 2017/18 campaign on loan at Maritzburg United.

The Soweto giants took to their social media platforms on deadline day to announce the deal, and wished the speedy attacker well at his new club.

Twala had been linked with a possible exit at Chiefs since his surprising substitution against Baroka in September 2016.

On the day, Steve Komphela introduced Twala from the bench, only to pull him out after 12 minutes, and since then, the former Orlando Pirates winger had not made Amakhosi's match day squads.

Goal reported towards the end of last year that Chiefs wanted to use Twala as bait in their bid to sign Sinethemba Jantjie from Free State Stars.

However, the proposed deal failed to materialize after Twala refused to move to the Bethlehem-based outfit.

The Team of Choice confirmed earlier this week that they had tabled an offer for the Soweto-born midfielder, and that they were still waiting to hear from Amakhosi.

Twala will look to make the most of his time at the Team of Choice, especially because his contract with Amakhosi is also coming to an end in June 2018.
