Nakumatt thrashed by former Zambian champions

Festus Mbewe, the scorer in the 1-1 draw with Gor Mahia, hit Nkana’s third goal in the 61st minute

Visiting Nkana FC wrapped up their pre-season of Kenya with a convincing 4-0 thrashing of Nakumatt FC on Monday.

The 12-time Zambian champions, who drew 1-1 with a second string Gor Mahia side, in their other fixture, went ahead in the 37th minute after Walter Bwalya sneaked a fierce shot past new Nakumatt keeper Frank Mwenda.

Idriss Mbombo added the second on the stroke of half-time, before second half goals from Festus Mbewe and Humphrey Maseneko sealed the result.

"This is a result that will give us confidence considering we are still trying to build up fitness and we have big games coming up at the start of the season.

"Overall, I am very impressed by the two results we posted in Kenya plus the preparations for the season all round," said Nkana coach Feston Chambeshi.

Nkana are supposed to fly out to Ndola ahead of Thursday's Super Cup clash against Zanaco on Thursday.
