The 25-year-old attacker has been one of Bucs' best players thus far this season, and has subsequently earned another call-up to the Bafana squad

Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic believes that Thembinkosi Lorch deserves to be in the Bafana Bafana set-up.

The skilful forward, who received a late inclusion in the Bafana squad last month, has been in good form for the Buccaneers in recent times.

Sredojevic praised Lorch following Bucs' 3-1 win over AmaZulu FC in the 2018 Telkom Knockout Cup quarter-final clash in Durban over the weekend.

"He has been called into the national team but didn't play," Sredojevic said on IOL.

Lorch hit the back of the net twice as the Buccaneers booked their place in the semi-final where they are set to face their Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs.

"It was very important to show to everyone that he has not been called to the national team by accident and that he fully deserves (it) and today he was a man of the match, scoring two goals," he continued.

"It is something we are very happy about but he is still far from what he can do.  Each and every player has a huge room for improvement in our team," Sredojevic added.

Lorch has also been in good form in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) having contributed with two goals and three assists in eight games.

"I'm very happy with Lorch because he injured himself if you remember when we played AmaZulu in King Zwelithini (Stadium in Umlazi) in April," Micho explained.

"He was out for a long time. He broke his shoulder. It was hard to come back (for him). It has been a bumpy road for him to come back," he concluded.

Meanwhile, it has since been confirmed that Lorch will again be part of Baxter's squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations clash with Nigeria.
