Ghana striker Mahatma Otoo believes he had a successful season in Turkey following his loan deal from Norwegian side Sogndal to Umraniyespor Kulubu.

The 24-year-old, who joined Sogndal in 2013 from Hearts of Oak, became an integral part of the club but fell down the pecking order last season, forcing him to look elsewhere for more playing time.

At his new club, he scored two goals and provided five assists to help the club survive relegation.

“It has been a very good season for the club and myself looking at the time I arrived here,” Mahatma told Football Ghana.

“The main target was to stay in the league that's why they signed me since they were having problems during the first round and thanks to God, since I arrived, everything changed and the club was able to achieve their target,” he added.

It is unclear whether Umraniyespor will strike a clause in Mahatma's contract to sign him on a permanent deal but he is expected to join Sogndal this week before he travels to Ghana for holidays.

He was part of the Black Stars squad that won silver at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
