The Zambian striker struggled to adapt to life at Naturena, and reports suggest he has returned to Zambia to join Nkwazi FC

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly parted ways with striker Lewis Macha six months after signing him from Mozambican club Ferroviario de Maputo.

The 26-year-old failed to hit the ground running in competitve matches for Chiefs despite scoring on his debut in the Carling Black Label Cup.

He scored in added time to earn the Glamour Boys a 2-0 win over arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in the pre-season friendly, but often played second fiddle to Bernard Parker and Mitchell Katsvairo among others in official matches.

Things took a turn for the worst as injuries forced him out of action for the better part of the first half of the season.

Macha managed just six official appearances for the Glamour Boys without finding the back of the net.

According to Zambian publication Daily Mail, the 24-year-old has penned a two-year deal with Nkwazi which was confirmed by the club’s general secretary Davy Chimbwelenge.

With Macha now gone, Amakhosi can afford to sign two foreign players this season.

They are currently assessing Italian striker Gustavo Paez as well as Brazilian defender Pedro Henrique Dias DeAmorim.
