Asante Kotoko assistant coach Akakpo Patron is impressed with his side's performance in the 2-0 win over Wa All Stars on Sunday.
After four fruitless away trips, goals from Amos Frimpong and Frederick Boateng did the magic as they moved three places up to third position on the log.
"It's a refreshing moment for everyone at the club and we're really excited especially for the fans that travelled to come and support us," Akakpo said.
"Strategically, we knew that the pitch isn't the best so we tried to adopt a strategy and it worked for us despite the pressure after scoring the first goal," he added.
Patron further insisted that Kotoko forwards have started utilizing many of the opportunities and expects them to hit top form soon.
"Goalscoring is an act so once our players have started to score consistently, they will grow in confidence and begin to bang in the goals gradually. It won't be so easy but we are still hoping that they will continue with such performance," he said.
Kotoko will play fierce rivals Hearts of Oak next weekend and Patron believes they will prepare adequately.
"We'll be aiming for the best in that fixture although the points at stake are the same as compared to other games but it goes beyond points when the two clubs meet, therefore, we will prepare very well," he said.
