Kisumu County will hold the first round of trials for the junior Harambee Stars U20 team that is set to take part in the four-nation tournament in Egypt in March.
The junior team, Rising Stars is set to hit camp early this month in readiness for the upcoming African Youth Championships later in the year.
Football Kenya Federation has called an open trial that will be conducted across the country to select a formidable team that is also expected to play a friendly match with Tanzania in the coming weeks.
Kisumu City will host the first trials this Saturday at Moi Stadium from at 8.30AM under the supervision of Harambee Stars assistant coach, Stanley Okumbi.
Okumbi will be in charge of the U20 team to Egypt, according to FKF Communication Officer, Barry Otieno.
The trials will be held in all the regions that reached the Chapa Dimba na Safaricom finals.
“Coaches will go round the country and pick the best players from all the regions that reached Chapa Dimba finals," Otieno told Goal.
Kisumu County booked their place in the Chapa Dimba finals after Plateau Queens edged out Ugari by a solitary goal in the Nyanza regional finals staged at Gusii Stadium last October.
