Kenyan Premier League is set to kick-off on 18th of February, Goal has learnt.
Football Kenya Federation and Kenyan Premier League Limited have been in tussle of war on the number of teams to take part in the top tier. FKF Communications Officer Barry Otieno has told Goal that the date is set but slight changes might be effected.
"We have already decided the league should kick-off on 18th of next month, but it is a tentative date, meaning it can be brought forward. But that is the date we have selected, we want to do things in an organized manner."
On the same note, the fate of the three relegated teams - Muhoroni Youth, Thika United and Sofapaka - will be known on Thursday. The named teams failed to comply with club licensing procedures leaving the federation with no choice but relegate them.
However, the clubs appealed the decision and the ruling is set to be made on Thursday.
