Kenya inches closer to maiden Afcon U-17 as Uganda lines up next

A win for Kenya against Uganda will see the junior side edge closer to booking their maiden appearance at the 2019 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.

The junior Harambee Stars picked their second consecutive victory in the ongoing Cecafa Regional qualifiers after hammering Djibouti 9-0 at the Azam Sports Complex in Chamazi, Tanzania.

This was the biggest scoreline of the tourney thus far, taking Kenya’s goal tally to 13. Kenya opened the championship with a 4-0 thumping over South Sudan on Tuesday.

The victory against Djibouti saw Kenya take a commanding control of the five-team Group B with six points, same as second-placed Ethiopia, who have an inferior goal difference.

Uganda is third with three points from two matches. Kenya will face Uganda on Sunday before winding the group stage matches against Ethiopia on Wednesday.
