Ushuru FC labored to a 1-0 win against Green Commandos of Kakamega in an entertaining clash staged at Camp Toyoyo on Sunday.

The hosts were deemed favourites and many expected them to win by a bigger margin, but they ended up struggling and had to rely on their custodian to bail them out. Head coach Ken Kenyatta has revealed the reason behind his team's play.

“Well, we came into the match over confident, and underrated them (Green Commandos), only to realize that it was not a walk in the park. But I am happy we have won, and three points are ours, but again, Commandos are a good side that I have to admit.

“I hope this win is the beginning of our good run, it is going to be tough but we have to give our best,” Kenyatta told Goal on Monday.

The tax men have won two matches, drawn two and lost as many matches this season.
